Depends on what you mean by a full day of shooting...and what you are shooting. I have two 16GB and two 8GB and have shot a lot of action sports for 8-10 hr days...and have not even used the two 8GB...

Time to upgrade...Sorry wish I had a better answer....You will love the Macbook Pro/EX1/ SxS workflow. I decided not to go with the USB reader for this very reason. 200+ and it needs seperate pwr......

Use the Express card slot on the Macbook Pro and forget about the card reader...Express card slot is faster anyway.. You just need the SxS driver which is on the Sony Site.

Sott brings up a good point on the SxS card that came with the EX1...Not the rebate additional card but the one that came with the camera. The Package contents page in the owners manual does not show...

Right now yes if you want a Firmware update you would have to send in the camera...Now once the EX3 is released it seems shortly there after they will be releasing it to the publiuc so you can update...

I have the EX1 and use the LCD for all my focus needs and it works great! I wish the EVF was better for sure but it really can only be used for framing. However, it seems getting a hood for the LCD...

I missed a lot of shots while trying to switch back and forth durring an action sports shoot I was on last week....I sure hope they can do something about this as this is extremely frusterating :(

Don't forget a Quick access to framerate changes and Rec format... menu steps take way to long to change between 1080 30p and 720 24p then accessing S&Q for 60fps. I go back and forth between these...

Strange, I am not using premiere so I guess I jumped the gun thinking your BPAV's were being corrupted...Sounds like some sort of file naming conflict on some level.
