Re: Small Jib for Creative Shots.
Yes that's the one where we used it on one of my weddings.
He uses it all the time on just about all of his weddings.
We live 90 miles apart, so it's quite a big deal for him to bring it down...

Re: Small Jib for Creative Shots.
33' is quite long. lol But those were some great shots!
We actually have a 15' (from the fulcrum... so like 20+ feet in total length) one that one of our guys built himself with a motorized pan...

Re: New Sony FDR AX33
Earlier this week, I was playing with one in Best Buy, and I was pretty sure I was able to go full manual and control each aspect manually, but it required menu diving for each one. I'll have to go...

Re: Small Jib for Creative Shots.
Thanks for the input. I've looked at a ton of these things the past couple days.
I know it would be used pretty infrequently, but in my head I'm thinking that when we have couples who are into...

Small Jib for Creative Shots.
I am thinking about picking up a small jib for this wedding season to try and get some different kinds of shots, staged shots.
I've been looking at the Cobra Crane I for $300 at B&H. There's an...

Drones at weddings.
So, I'm watching the new DJI Phantom 3 demo videos and such... and on this one at the 2:50 Mark, they are clearly touting the brand new indoor functionality of the drones... by showing it in use at...

Re: Help calibrating camera with DSC chart
I learn more and more every time I do this kind of stuff. I don't have a way to calibrate my cameras before hand, but what I've found is that using a DSC Labs one shot chart allows me to match my...

Re: Nikon D750 worth it over D5500 for Video
I got the D750 24-120 F4 kit for video and it works pretty good.
I'll have to say, focus performance is lacking compared to my Nikon V1, but that's not really a fair comparison because the V1 is...

Re: PXW-X70 or HDR-AX2000
I'm guessing maybe they've got new versions coming out in the near future.
The AX100 price was dropped to $1698 several weeks ago.

Re: D600 doubts?
The only thing you can't change in video mode is the aperture. You still have control over shutter and ISO.
I didn't know there was a magic lantern hack...

Re: After 3 years, is CC working? Worth it?
I was very hesitant at first about their new pricing structure as well.
I've been on it for not quite a year and am absolutely loving it. The $50/mo is a hit, especially when you combine it with...

Re: X70 autofocus issues
This is a very informative thread. I found an AX100 for $1,000 at a local shop and have been considering it.
I'd be using these unmanned (most of the time) at wedding ceremonies for B&G shots.

Re: Big doubt - Canon x Nikon
I'm working on my Nikon D750 review right now, from a wedding and event perspective.
Holy moly - I shot my first DSLR wedding this past Saturday using the D750, 70-200 VR2, and 17-55 F2.8.
I...

Re: Second Camera to AX100
Why not just pick up another ax100?
I found a used one in brand new condition for $1,019 at a local shop. Excellent deal. B&H has them going for $1,400 used which is also a good price.
I'd...

Re: Rehearsal Dinner and what to charge?
About $1,000 and yes it's on the final video.
Will negotiate somewhat depending on what else they are buying... but I'm losing a whole Friday evening, so it's a premium price.

Re: Is anyone using Sony PXW-X70 for weddings?
There's no doubt I'd be using it as a wide shot from the back for sure.
My thinking for 4 is for when shooting solo Ceremonies:
1 - back wide
2 - bride cam front right (unmanned framed semi...

Re: Is anyone using Sony AX100 for weddings?
I didn't want to create an entirely new thread, as this is basically the same question.
I have a chance to get a Sony AX100 at an amazing price, and now that reality is setting in... and I'm 99%...
