Re: Running 'n Gunning, DSLR.
I really find that once you add the focus-factor (the need to focus with one hand) a monopod is so helpful. I know that takes some of the run 'n gun out of the equation, though.

Re: Before the Shoot
Agreed. I even tell them that their choice of music affects the way I shoot. This might be SLIGHTLY stretching the truth, but not really. If I know they want a very unique type of song for part of...

Re: Fireworks - a short orig. footage from XF100
Very impressive outcome with the XF100. Definitely gives it a different look. I use it as a long-view camera at weddings and I have not explored enough of the preset options. But you've inspired...

Re: T3i format without losing Magic Lantern?
John,
They must have done an update since you wrote. Now, it is very easy to format the card in the camera while keeping Magic Lantern intact (the magic lantern files are quickly transferred to the...

Re: Advice on Dance concerts
I don't think anyone has mentioned this yet, but the aspect ration looks squished (as if it were shot in 16:9 but then displayed in 4:3). Is that just the YouTube? Or maybe I'm just forgetting that...

Re: Supply couples with Blu-ray
I get requests for blu-ray on 75% of weddings.
So now, I've actually stopped asking. I just give them at least one blu-ray as a part of all (wedding) jobs. In the rare event that they don't...

Re: TimeLapse
Are there negatives? I've only seen positives: easy timelapse, continuous recording, audio levels, focus aids while filming, faster 3X button assign, white balance by KELVIN...
So much easier to...

Re: New editing mac for wedding
Still enjoying my late 2007 Mac Pro 2,1 -- souped up with lots of RAM and drives.
Was hoping to get a couple more seasons. Still works nicely with FCP 7, HD footage and Magic Bullet

Just wondering if any other songfreedom.com users are having difficulty. The last couple weeks, the links and search functions haven't been very responsive. Just wondering if anyone else was having...

Cineplus CINEMA setting & Magic Lantern Timelapse
I've been pleased with the Cineplus CINEMA profile setting and just tried it with a few shots, including a timelapse done with Magic Lantern (makes timelapses a lot easier on the t3i). I'm still...

Re: How do you handle travel fees?
Case by case, like Don. I don't advertise a particular set up, because it really depends on the date, how the travel falls against other travel/etc. If I happen to book back-to-back weddings in the...

Re: Anybody here do dance concerts?
A lot of times, when I'm in this situation, I'll give a timecode disc to the dance co. with a draft of my cuts (I do a first cut with my best guess as to which angle they'd want based on all the...
