So, presumably (!) the Sony PXW-X70 will get this 100Mbps 4K encoding rate too - and hopefully a few other flavours of XAVC, bearing in mind it's going to be a paid for update whilst the "lesser"...

I use (and have heard generally good things about) Towergate Camerasure. I have insured with them for 3 years now (and they were a lot cheaper than the previous company I used for my camera etc...

Sometimes I need to "prime" or "prep" people who need to do a piece straight to camera - and that can look best with them dead centre/filling most of the frame. So it's not really an "interview" in...

Still in the centre only. Works really well on my Mki for run-n-gun (with use of AF Lock assigned to a button on the side grip). Rubbish for most interview situations though...I rarely want a speaker...

Depending on timing (it seems the first C100 mkii unboxing video has just hit the web) then I would suggest you try and hire this newer version.
Why? 1080p50/60 would be very, very useful for any...

One other thing to perhaps check is if the fan on the camera is still working??? It could have packed in a while ago (it's a mechanical part after all), and then that perhaps might explain why...

Tough call. I sold my EX3 nearly a year ago (to get the PMW-300). I also have a C100 and a ton of Canon glass.
EX3 is a truly lovely run-n-gun or events cam and is not too bad in low light...
