Re: Fall. Shot on the 5D
Thanks, Chris. I relish your description. I knew it was those things for me and for friends, which makes it worth the effort, but it's hard to predict how parties removed from it all would take it....

Fall. Shot on the 5D
I recently completed the most dramatic piece I've ever been involved with. A climber takes a huge fall during an ice climbing expedition on some New England ice.

Class 10 Transcend 32gb incompatible with HM100
For me, with two HM100s, I mistakenly thought the new 32 Class 10 SD cards would work - they format, but show red 00:00 for recording time before/after formatting...forewarned. I got eight, tried...

Thin purple line
Heh. Thanks guys. I think a subtle difference between insanity and genius is merely success. This time I was closer to success. Isn't that lens impressive though? Oh, for the 16-35....

5D strapped to princess wagon, IS rules.
Just thought I'd share this project. I was impressed with several things, but mostly (technically speaking) the image stabilizer on the 24-105. There is no Smoothcam on the runs. The 5D did...

That looks like an amazing place to ride - makes me want to go! I'm impressed you drove and shot w/ that camera; it's not exactly light.

Well done! The video was gorgeous. What an amazing place. You helped me make some gear purchases, too. While I have the IndieSlider, it's big. And heavy. And while longer, for lots of shots that...

Seriously? It sticks out that far?
Jon - Thanks for making those audio for the 5D videos. I wanted to ask, though - is that really how far juice box sticks out of the back? That's crazy. Can you turn the camera around or something so...

Most popular accessories - and a few questions
Ok, so I'm about to pick up a 5D and 2x HM100s. I intend to enjoy the photo capabilities of the 5D, but will primarily be using it for video. The 2 100s are really just going to be interview cams....

Amazing place
The location is much more impressive than the video. Did you down-grade it? Did you de-saturate everything on purpose? I think it needs "better/different" grading. I think you could pull some...

Say what?
It's the camera's crappy on-board audio that makes it suck (at those few specific moments). The solution would seem to me to be a better (still on camera, perhaps) mic. Issue addressed. I agree with...

For what it may or may not be worth...
Why would you shoot SD over HD anyway? Wouldn't it be better to just drop the HD stuff into an SD timeline? Much more flexible; many more post options, too. ...

I think the one millionth post should get a DSC color chart or something. And I'm glad you prune the board. Grows better that way.

Mike,
Do you have any footage comparison shot on the JVC GY-HD250s? I'm seriously considering the nano, though even at $3495 it feels pricey. I can honestly say, that while the workflow...
