Hi Mike

I have the Tamaron and love it. Image stabilization and turns out great stuff. You could have borrowed it before you bought to see if you liked it. The Canon is a great lens as well.

I have the Hoodman on my 7D. Very happy with it. The only downside is that is shifts a bit and really could use a method to keep it square on the LCD. Other than that surprisingly clear and accurate....

You can get really sick looking through a view finder

I know it all too well. Flying and shooting video is a mix that sometimes does not end well. Hard to do. Some can shoot from the air with no problem. Others have real issues.

I can get the pictures out of the camera to the computer using the camera itself. I think there is some conversion from Mov files that helps speed up the transfer.
