Re: Multicamera HD-SDI set

We've just purchased an older RTW peakmeter so the users can more easily see what the correct level is.. We also have an Apantac DA-HDTV-SDI on the way so we can try and use Gopro's as HD-SDI 1080i50...

Multicamera HD-SDI set

I designed and built this set to be used by people with a minimum of experience in TV. It had to be simple and it had to work.

The previous set the organisation used was basicly similar but then...

Re: Sony unveils the EX3 successor: PMW-300

Back when the broadcasters such as Sony and Philips (BTS) began with HD camera's, they settled in on the 1" format.. Such cameras as the Sony HDC-300 and HDC-500 and the BTS LDK9000 used 1" lenses.....

Re: Sony DSR-70 genlock/sync

A recorder usually does not need reference for recording. It syncs to the incoming signal. Especially seeing as the PGM output of the switcher

It does need reference for playing back. It will sync...

Re: Sony DSR-70 genlock/sync

Give both the BVS-3100 and the DSR70 the same reference (the same that the cameras have), and then you should be able to switch to the DSR-70 when it's playing back without a problem.

If you...

Re: Anyone here a collector?

Just bought another camera.. an LDK-14 from 1984.. The type of camera you see being used at the UK performances of Live aid '85 :)..

I just love seeing how the cameras evolved over time and...

Anyone here a collector?

I was just wondering, with people here from all ages and backgrounds.. does anyone collect old broadcast stuff just for fun?

My primary job is being a vision engineer (shading), but I enjoy...

Re: Sony BVS-3100 switcher sync

You don't need a TBC for a CCU if it has the same reference as the switcher..

Re: Sony BVS-3100 switcher sync

I would try and find another switcher.. Shouldn't be that hard with SD stuff being thrown out at an amazing rate..

Switchers from that era (and professional ones especially) were not designed to...

Re: Cheap B4 lenses with adapter included on ebay

I used B4 lenses with adapter on my GH2.. in a modified shoulder rig to make it more in the shapefactor that you would want it to be. I mostly did this because I was used to shoulder cameras.. You...

Re: American TV Ad Production

It's pretty much the reverse here.. on a HD channel you see HD ads, and HD bought content (shows from abroad), but local stuff is still mostly SD..

Vinten head on Oconnor tripod

I got a Oconnor tripod (25L) about a year ago, to which I mounted a Manfrotto 116 Mk3 since I had no budget for a higher end head. The manfrotto was a bit overkill for my camera's and rigs (homebuilt...

Re: The Sony F65 New Digital Cinema Cam

Daniel.. they (Grass Valley) actually still use the mechanical shutters.. aside from the fact that they are not as sensitive I've not come across many problems.. (though that is in studio enviroments)

Re: HM700 Viewfinder to use on other Cameras?

Re: Is "Rolling Shutter-Free" a far away dream for Consumers and Prosumers?

Tbh, most broadcast cameras are still CCD, so if you watch a live HD broadcast chances are pretty big that they are CCD's in action.. So they must have seen it :)

Anyway.. CCD is on the way out,...

Re: Lens question for the group

Simple answer, no you can't.. It's designed for a much smaller sensor.. Even if you use ETC mode the image circle of the lens is too small to cover the sensor. (A 1/2" mount lens should work...
