Waiting for E-mount lenses... Waiting, Waiting...
Now the excitement is gone - the FS-100 has arrived it's time to do a reality check. What happened to all the promised e-mount lenses? It is officially summer here.

Unless you want to get into some expensive adapters or wait a few months for Birger, Nikon Zooms are the way to go I think. Those and a $30 adapter and you are all set.

Those kit Sony lenses, the e-mounts feel like toys to me.
They just do not say "I do this for a living...really" - maybe its the way things are now... Consumer is tommorrows Professional.

I never use AF or anything auto or IS so my lens choice is wide open. If you use these then E-mounts are your only option I agree. That means waiting a few months.
I got the cheap Fotodiox Nikon...

First Impressions...
My FS-100 first thoughts...
It is lighter than I imagined.... and the build quality is a possible worry. Only time and use will tell so let's ignore this for now. I shoot in a lot of remote...

Doc work ... to replace my big bulky Ex3 and the small but useless Canon 7D!
I will use 2 or 3 special primes and 2 big zooms - not sure which yet. Probably Zeiss primes for interviews.
All day...

A macro for $250.....!!! What is not to like... with emount.
I just bought Sony's E-mount 16mm 2.8 lens, brand new on ebay for $165.
The lens choice is exactly why I bought this camera.

They just announced 120fps at 2k on the Scarlett. But shipping in reasonable numbers - meaning actually buying one will be next year I think. They say fall but with Red you add 6 more months always....

I always shoot with an assistant - as I only shoot in Asia and I have a translator and usually a driver with me. I have a full time assistant in Beijing so I am lucky I can do this. I always have 2...
