When you export for DVD, make sure that you are exporting as progressive not interlaced.

Make sure that your project settings match your source footage. Also, when you export, make sure your using a progressive mode and not an interlace mode.

I also have the xha1 and have not experienced this. What NLE are you using? When you export your video use the progressive setting. Did you shoot in 60I, 24p or 30Pp

30P to Blu Ray?

I filmed a project on a Canon XHA1, 1080i 30P. Can this footage be burned to Blu Ray without a problem? From what I understand 24p and 60I are actual Blu Ray specs.

Phil, depending on the importance of the shoot, you may want to consider renting a prompter, that way the speakers eyes and focus will be in the proper place.
