Re: Matte box
I know Chris, I was having fun too. $600.00 can get you a lot more than a plastic box!
It is kind of funny that Tom has Noa's EA50. Because Noa has the guts to show up and shoot the academy...

Re: replace AT835b with Senn MKE 600 or?
Harry,
Just the other day I recorded a CD to my camera with my ME 66 on one track and the Sony stock shotgun on my EA50 on the other track for comparison sake. Of course there is a huge...

Noa is correct. There is no SDI output on the EA50. In fact, there are NO BNC connectors at all, even the component out is RCA connectors.
There is also no traditional TC out connection for...

Good stuff. I liked all of it. I was a little surprised you did not mix any of the live fire audio into it?

The EA50 shoots .jpg only. There is no settings for .raw. You can however, choose from a few different aspect ratios.

Re: Matte box
+1 Dave.
Tom said in another post he is "tying to pimp out his EA50". I don't think functionality is his biggest concern. Tom?
You could always hang some fuzzy dice from your new matte box!

Re: First time shooting a concert (questions)
Those are very inexpensive mics. This is a guess without seeing your setup but it sounds to me like distortion coming in from sound outside the pickup pattern. Was there a wall or hard surface...

A couple weeks ago I shot about 30 stills with the EA50 at the same time as I was shooting the same subject with mt EOS 1D MK11. Obviously I would not expect ANY video camera to compete with a true...

Re: Stage shoot Settings?
Tom,
Let me be more specific. You said you set the AE shift and you assigned a button to it. The button will then give you three options: 1. ON 2. Off 3. Set the value
Anytime you see the...

Re: Is the digital zoom lossless?
Tom,
To use the digital zoom with the stock lens it takes two steps:
1. Turn on the D-Zoom
2. Then you set the zoom lever to D zoom.

At 11mm you should be on their face like a huge pimple ;) I know you know your 50s inside out. For the AF scenario you are describing that is what the AF "button" is for. You run in manual focus...

Re: Stage shoot Settings?
Tom,
It is AE Shift. You set the value you want in the menu. You can also turn it on and off there. If you assign a preset button to it, that button will activate it to the level you set.
