Re: My lens has a spot on it, is there anything I can do?

I still have my old T4i, which replaced a T2i, and Josh is correct, a lot of folks used the T2i (and T4i) for video back in its day. I never got around to putting mine on Ebay, although it's all...

Re: My lens has a spot on it, is there anything I can do?

What you have right now is a deal breaker.

Plus, you're wanting to shoot video with a still-photography telephoto zoom. Considering that your budget is too limited for a proper cine zoom or a...

Re: My lens has a spot on it, is there anything I can do?

I pointed this out long ago and I repeated it several times... in this thread plus a couple of other Ryan discussions.

That particular telephoto zoom is without question the single worst lens he...

Re: Lens choices for the BMPCC 6K

Yowza. The best price I've ever seen for this lens was $260.

Man, $200 is an amazing bargain. For anybody who's thinking about this great little lens... now is the time to jump on it. You won't be...

Re: Breaking Bad

Many people whose opinions I trust have told me it's excellent.

And yet, I've never seen a single episode and I'm not sure that I ever will.

The subject matter is a problem for me, sorry. I...

Re: My lens has a spot on it, is there anything I can do?

Look, both halves of this are true. First:

This is correct. If you could take your current 75-300 and hold it in one hand, and hold the Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8L in your other hand, the...

Re: My lens has a spot on it, is there anything I can do?

What you're missing is the largest maximum aperture value at full telephoto.

With a constant aperture zoom, you don't have to stop down. That's the advantage.

The trade-offs are size, weight,...

Yes indeed. We need to figure out what it is that you're not understanding. I think it would be helpful for you to go back and review the progression of this entire discussion thread. Plus some of...

Re: My lens has a spot on it, is there anything I can do?

Good heavens. No. That would *not* work. Think about it for a minute. Can you see how that isn't possible?

Instead, as Brian mentions above, the way you handle a variable aperture lens is to...

Re: My lens has a spot on it, is there anything I can do?
