Has anyone here ever used Creative Commons music?

Let me clarify first- I would never use CC music on a client paying a "normal" fee for a video, because you have to attribute the artist in the piece, and I wouldn't think someone paying good money...

Re: Anyone have issues with the Rode DSLR shotgun mic?

This is not the Videomic pro, it's the less expensive one that they offer at B&H. I will give them a call and see. Good thing I saved the boxes to all my new equipment!

Re: Matching shots from different cameras

I do know some basics of color correcting, and I'm willing to learn plenty more. However, I'm just starting out, and I was paid a very small fee for this gig and I've already spent a lot of time on...

Matching shots from different cameras

Hi all- I've been shooting weddings with a Canon XF100, and a 60D. I don't have the hang of matching up their settings and white balance yet, so my shots look a bit different from eachother. I...

Re: What's the best way to find second-shooter gigs?

Although my primary goal is to make some cash on the side, I definitely want to learn from someone who is talented and experienced. Not hand-holding, but just to observe the ways they organize...

Re: What's the best way to find second-shooter gigs?

That's a good idea Roger. I'll look for some groups around my area. Is it appropriate or desirable to send a message to videographers I've rubbed elbows with and offer services?

What's the best way to find second-shooter gigs?

I live in a suburban area outside of NYC so there are definitely gobs of shooters around. I've shot three weddings myself, so I could easily put together a demo reel. Aside from a couple Craigslist...

Re: Starting out- long form or short form?

That's a pretty nice video. I've been watching tons of AMAZING short form videos, but not really any long form because they aren't as easy to come by online.

Re: Starting out- long form or short form?

Indeed- and it's a skill I'd like to improve. I would love to be good enough to make gorgeous short-form pieces. I just don't want to get caught up in worrying about things that I don't need to do...
