Re: What stabilizer do you use, or would like to be using.

I agree Noa. The shadow is pretty clear. The camera was removed and attached to the bottom with the feet. My guess is you can do it both ways. The picture way looks faster (just flip it over and...

Re: What stabilizer do you use, or would like to be using.

Noa, that is nice stuff! Impressive. I would hire you based off that one collect of clips.

Re: Longer Focal Length Recommendations for Ceremonies?

Just out of curiosity, what did you not like about the 70-200? I just rented it to try it out at a wedding last weekend and was pretty impressed.

Wedding Crashers

I've heard of the movie and have heard people joke about it for years, but I didn't know people actually did it! I had a couple at a wedding last night that were having a lot of fun on the dance...

Re: Paid in Fraudulent notes!

I have worked in banking for seven years working as a teller, head teller, and vault teller at three different banks (due to advancements). I have to agree with Don that it is possible to slip a...

Re: 4-8 minute trailer help

Terry
I agree with Chris that a little more detail will help us answer your question. One big difference is if you are a solo shooter or not. By yourself, it will take more effort and planning...

Re: 4-8 minute trailer help

Chris,
As you know, I have not been filming weddings long, but I have done a trailer for each...and I will continue to do so. The main reason is the publicity that comes with it. A trailer placed...

Re: How much do you use your glidecam?

Noa, you mentioned having a blackbird. Do you need an additional plate between the dslr and the blackbird because of how front (lens) heavy the dslr can get? I tried to fly with a 24-70mm zoom and...

Re: posting

I think that a lot of the shots were well composed. From the shots at the end, I'm pretty sure you have a tripod. I think it would help to use it for the earlier prep as well. If there is not...

Well, I finished my first wedding and the highlight video for it. It was completed thanks to the help of this forum, and more specifically those of you who took the time to help me in this...

First Wedding (and first day with a blackbird)

Here is my first wedding video. I would appreciate constructive tips/suggestions. It is longer than a trailer, but I hope you like it. I would REALLY love help with my light/flicker issue. I...

Re: What qualities to look for in second shooters?

I have edited more than I have shot, and I would have to agree with Don. They need to follow instructions or editing is a pain.

Re: Camera settings for a new flyer

Thank you. I guess what makes it tough is that I don't know what I need to know. It makes wording the question difficult. I would primarily shoot weddings when using the steadicam. I am also...

Re: Rokinon / Samyang?

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that these two brands were the same company. If so, why does B&H sell both?

Re: Camera settings for a new flyer

Thanks Ron. Is 24mm wide enough, or should I get something like a 14mm for outside stuff?

Re: Camera settings for a new flyer

Wow, over three hundred views and no one has commented. I really could use the help. By shooting wide, I did mean angle as in 35mm, 24mm, etc. I definitely did not mean aperture.

Re: New Canon XA25, XA20 and HF G30 camcorders

Has anyone used one of these in a dark indoor environment (or more specifically, a wedding reception)? I would love to hear how it performed. I would like something that handles low-light better...

Re: What's so great about Canon DSLRs?

OK. So I read the posts here and did a lot of research. I even borrowed a D600 for few days and did my own tests. The Nikon produced a great image. It was sharp and had a nice range. However, it just...

Re: What's so great about Canon DSLRs?

Peter, I liked the promo video. Good footage. There were a couple of clips that really showed off a nice dynamic range. Your post could really help convince me to stay Nikon...except for that bit...

Re: What's so great about Canon DSLRs?

Nigel, thanks for the suggestion. I think that will help a great deal. With what I have read about the 5D's ability to handle higher ISO, bumping it a little to shoot at f5.6 should not introduce...

Re: What's so great about Canon DSLRs?

How does focus fit in here? I use manual focus for artsy shots and for shots of still subjects (like during the vows), but I am not great with a subject moving toward me (bride entrance). I can keep...

Re: Bride/Groom Prep (Awkward?)

I am wishing I would have posted this a few months ago. So, on average, how much time do you spend with the bride (& bridesmaids)? The groom (and groomsmen/ushers)?

Re: New Canon XA25, XA20 and HF G30 camcorders

For those testing the autofocus, how does it perform with the subject moving? Specifically with the subject moving across being followed by a camera pan, and with the subject moving directly toward...
