Re: Simultaneous output from HD/SD-SDI BNC output and firewire with HD250?

I would recommend them getting a seperate video (analog or digital) video to firewire converter. That way all you need to do is deliver your signal.
You could deliver CVBS with dual analog audio,...

Re: Canon YH19x6.7 KRS

Don't you have any pictures available? If there is a cable coming from the handgrip it's for JVC/BTS/Panasonic and if there isn't it's for Sony.

I would definatly ask for some hires pictures...

Re: Is JVC going to make a 2/3 HD camera

JVC have made 2/3th inch camera's in the SD past.. However I think the last one was the DV-700W which is a 16:9 2/3th inch version of the DV500.

Back in the day they also made quite a few 2/3th...

Re: Working on a shouldermount.. work in progress

Right, small update
I got the rig working fully now, after some adjusting the viewfinder works pretty nicely. I am using the USB > AV cable for monitoring the audio levels.

Next week I'm going to...

Re: 2/3" lens on Sony F3 via homebrew adapter

Very interesting :) I looked into doing similar for the EOS 550D, but couldn't find any reasonably priced solution.. It almost made me want to trade in the 550 for a GH1 since people have been using...

Re: Waiting for the Blackmagic Hyperdeck ... other HD-SDI alternatives?

For the inbuilt Decklink cards you'd need a fullsized PC or mac, I'm unsure about the specs needed, I don't have a blackmagic card near.

Re: Waiting for the Blackmagic Hyperdeck ... other HD-SDI alternatives?

How about a second, reasonably priced computer with a Decklink card to capture? If you put the two computers in a network or with a shared storage you can immediatly edit from your edit/graphics...

Re: Overheat and batteries? Is this normal for the t2i?

Supposedly it has to do with the LCD screen as well... So if you flip it out on the t3i it gets better cooling. Which makes me wonder, if you use an external screen on the 550D, does it overheat just...

Re: Syncing XF305 with second camera?

Wouldn't you be able to use the XF300 as the host by using it's video output (analog composite) to sync the XF305 to?

These camera's still use normal sync and not tri-level right?

Re: Working on a shouldermount.. work in progress

The entire rig with that lens (Vivitar 28-105) is about 4.2kg (9.3 lbs).
So it's about 600 grams heavier than an EX3 and about 0.8kg lighter than a HPX-301 for example..
Big part of that weight is...

Re: Working on a shouldermount.. work in progress

Working on a shouldermount.. work in progress

Would like some input, maybe some of you have some additional ideas!

I prefer the form factor of a shoulder camera, so I came up with this (Photo is a bit shoddy because the only decent camera I...

Re: Back-up camera, DSR390 or TM900

Depends, what are you delivering the material as? If 4:3 SD the DSR-390 is good to go, if it is 16:9 SD or even HD I would not use the DSR-390 to be honest..

Re: PMW-320 Viewfinder.

I played with one on a PMW-350, and I had a lot of trouble focussing when doing quick actions in difficult light. On the camera's I used before that I never had a problem. It might just be a case of...

Re: Nothing really new at NAB?

Re: Let's design a chip for HDTV and 4K2K cameras

The HD-DPM+ sensor from Grass Valley does a similar thing.. It's a 2/3th inch sensor, with 1920 pixels horizontally and 4320 "sub pixels" vertically.

When it needs to operate in 1080 mode it...

Re: The Ultimate GH2 Lens

It's a 2/3th inch video lens, with the extender on so it fills the 4/3 frame..

It's one of the reasons I wish I bought a GH1/GH2 instead of 550D :)

Re: Sony Monitor for Alpha SLT/DSLRs

So, if you use a 550D, how long would it take for it to jump to the SD input it that sends out once you press record? And is the screen still useable to focus with at that resolution?

Seems like a...

Sure you can.. It's just that DVD's can decay over time and they only hold 4.7GB.. So a harddrive makes more sense.. Especially with HD files which easily go over 4.7GB..
