Re: Our Best Yet -- Would love your thoughts

So, in general it has a tendency to drag the whole way. Ask yourself as you're putting it together, why am i using this shot? What does it accomplish? If its ever just to fill time or get you from...

Re: Our Best Yet -- Would love your thoughts

Katie,
One thing I would point out in addition to what everyone else has said is that you should be aware of pacing. 4:10 is a lot of time to fill and sometimes if you're pacing isn't right, it can...

Re: On Camera Light Source for 5D Mark III

Maurice, unless you need a flash as well look at the z96 LED that's available on amazon.com Amazingly robust and bright for $90 and uses Sony camera batteries.

Re: To Zoom or not to Zoom?

I had a H4n and sold it to buy a Tascam DR40. The only reason was the line/mic switch. At the point I stopped using it, I had a 3.5 inch long attenuator on the h4n all the time. It was a beast to get...

Re: Lens and Colours

Tariq. I'm not sure that there are "better" colors. Can you explain what you mean? I think the variables are so wide with camera settings and editing that it would be impossible to tell if a...

Re: So, is the 5D3 soft?

Color correction, exposure correction, gradingish stuff (even though I would never call it grading) curves and things. The image is more recoverable on the MkIII. MkII you pretty much had to get it...

Re: New 5D Mk3 User

Quick note on the 60d. If you use 1250 instead of 800 it'll be cleaner and brighter. On the mkiii I try not to go above 10000 which is pretty much useable right out of the camera. But that's a...

Re: Recording Speeches

I believe in redundancy... if it's a wireless, there's gotta be a receiver somewhere. Usually the receiver has an unbalanced out. I've had good luck with that. I would also clip a lapel.Mic to the...

Re: So, is the 5D3 soft?

Gentlemen. I have too much shooting to do to worry about 890 lines resolved vs 1000. I have the mkIII and so far it has performed beautifully up to 8000 ISO. I had a mkII and I notice that it takes a...

Re: Delivery of all videos on youtube?

Robert,
I've checked with the DOR several times about this and digital files are not taxable. I deliver a good many corporate videos and commercials online. its different in every state though, so...

Re: has anyone used the new Tamron 24-70 VC?

I just purchased this lens as well because of the 2.8 and VC. I own the 24-105 and LOVE IT. This one seems a tad sharper and it seems a bit easier to focus, everything else is about on par, but the...

Re: Mark III, Not happy with video output. Insight/Advice ?

What about them do you not like, just you think there's too much noise? The majority of the shots are overexposed, so surely you are losing some info in the overexposed areas. I thought the shot of...

Re: music video, slow motion but still in sync?

Isabelle's Gift - Million Dollar Joke - Music Video - YouTube
I shot this one at 60fps. Problem was the song was too fast to speed it up too much, so I was only able to get about 72% slomo. It...

Re: Telephoto lens for wedding?

Nigel, I don't think Evan was insinuating that he was handholding the 70-200. I borrowed a non is version before I bought mine and I can tell you the jitters even on a tripod are difficult...

Re: Anyone using C300 for Weddings?

That's like using a Ferrari to deliver pizza I think. I think Ray Roman has one... and David Robin. I'm very happy with my 5DmkIII Autofocus is overrated.

Re: couple of questions about Mk.III Lens

Maurice, I don't do photography at all, but the DJ kept turning off my lighting so I had an issue with light and it soaked it right up. Now, I've had some experience since then where 8000 at f/4...

Re: Telephoto lens for wedding?

I might also suggest the 70-200 f/4 IS. I think the IS is critical, and you should be able to get away with f/4 at a ceremony...
