Hero 4 Silver Battery life?
I'm curious, how long does the battery last on that thing?
Is it possible to frame up and then turn the LCD off?
I filmed a nearly 2 hour performance/concert today and had my Hero 2 as a wide...

Re: Any one only offering highlights?
The social media aspect is indeed very interesting.
2014 was the first year I actually used FB because it was the first year I did "highlights".
I posted it and let the couples tag themselves....

Re: Tripod for weddings shot with DSLrs
I use the Manfrotto 755XB with 701 HDV style heads. Super lightweight and super easy to get level because the adjustment is a ball on the center column. You just loosen it and actually rotate where...

Re: Biggest Challenge with DSLRs
Just shot an outdoor wedding Saturday and gave my D750 and 70-200 F2.8 a 6 hour workout.
I didn't have as many issues with focus on this one as I didn't use it for the ceremony processional. I...

Re: Anyone using the FZ1000 for weddings?
First, I absolutely LOVE the video footage that I'm getting from my D750 w/ 24-120 F4 and 70-200 F2.8. It is phenomenal in to me.
My main issue revolves around the wedding ceremony. I like to...

Re: Anyone using the FZ1000 for weddings?
This is a great discussion.
I found a YT video where a user went through 5 major problems with the FZ1000. The main one was the battery compartment is covered up by the tripod plate on the bottom...

Can I borrow this picture to use as an example as to why "unplugged" or at least having the couple say to everyone, "We've hired professionals, please enjoy the day with us" etc.... ?

Curious, do you guys have a standard set of fonts you use for your wedding videos?
If so, would you mind sharing your more favorite font sets for titling?
I've been using Helvetica Neue and...

Re: How to film when not allowed in sanctuary?
For us, the sanctuary is the entire room.
We've been told we can re-stage the major events for photos and video after the ceremony, so we plan to do some of that just in case.
My goal is to...

Re: Anyone using the FZ1000 for weddings?
This is very interesting... page 33 of the US(?) manual has nothing about recording time limits. It talks about how to shoot in Manual mode and confirm aperture.
Page 23 shows all the movie sizes...

Re: Anyone using the FZ1000 for weddings?
I was looking at the FZ1000 manual and does not indicate there is a time limit on the recording... which is interesting because the BH website indicates the 29 minutes.
The LX100 which is...

Re: Wedding camera placement
For 2 cams, I'd ideally have one "wide" up high above the standing crowds head for the bride's entrance.
The other, I roam on the side/up front (as comfortable) for processional, then the rest all...

How to film when not allowed in sanctuary?
Use a lot of cameras!
I came up with this shot plan for an upcoming wedding where we aren't allowed inside, but unmanned cameras are.
First time this has happened in 15 years.
This is...

Re: Anyone using the FZ1000 for weddings?
yes 30 minute record limit... which is a problem since I like to start my unmanned cams rolling 10-15 minutes prior to ceremony start time.
But, these supposedly have very good Wi-Fi remote...

Re: New Sony Camera - Perfect for weddings?
Someone online made an interesting note of the on-sensor PDAF, claiming that it may enable autofocus on any lens (canon, Nikon etc) used on the Sony with any adapter.
That would be super useful.

Anyone using the FZ1000 for weddings?
Looks like one of Sony's new announcements may be trying to compete with the Panasonic FZ1000 on some level.
But, I just checked Adorama and the Panasonic is going for $797 + a $100 gift card,...

D750 Video Workout
A few weeks ago, I spent 4 days filming a photo shoot with 27 models. The D750 performed amazing and I just love the look it gives on the Auto WB2 setting. Here's the highlight reel from the 4 days. ...
