As fa as not being able to upload in HD, did you actually shoot it in HD? If so, when you exported the file did you export it with the proper settings? Perhaps you inadvertantly used dvd settings?

I have a pair of Manfrotto 546bk legs. There is a lever that pulls open and pushes shut that is supposed to allow the tripod leg to be adjusted and locked into place. One of the levers on the bottom...

Have you tried calling your local camera dealer to see if you can rent a compatible camera? It might be the easiest wat to go. Good luck.
