Apple Music

How do you get info about composer/performer when using Apple license-free music, such as Jingles?

Most of my stock music, like the stuff I got from Digital Juice, has a reference to who wrote and...

Re: Best memory card for 60d

I prefer Hoodman RAW. They cost more, but their performance is rock-solid and customer service is great.

Re: You never hear about an issue until you have it

Well, the camera arrived safe and sound back home here in the beautiful Rocky Mountains today.

Everything seems to work fine. Canon's worksheet says they replaced a connector CF pin and reset...

Re: You never hear about an issue until you have it

No. I never in a million years would have thought I needed to because as far as I know, I never did anything to change them.

Re: You never hear about an issue until you have it

Apparently a bent pin wasn't the issues with mine. I just got an email saying they were "restoring factory settings" at no cost to me. I'm not sure what that means because I've never used Magic...

Well, they seemed very helpful and concerned on the phone. Like I said: We'll see.

You never hear about an issue until you have it

Which is what happened to me with my 6-month-old 5D MKII.

I finished a shoot, and after downloading the footage I put the CF card back in to format it. When I did, I got an error message saying...

Re: Memory Card

I always reformat the card each time I insert it, not just when I change cameras, and I think that's kept me from having any problems... that, and using only Hoodman cards.

Re: Real World FCP-X.

Yes, I understand that. But I would still have to apply those presets to each individual clip, rather than having them applied automatically if I had the presets on a track.

It's not impossible to...

Re: Real World FCP-X.

I'm finding not being able to have multiple tracks is a bit... limiting, if not annoying. If I correct some footage and I want other clips to have the same brightness, contrast, color-correction, or...

Re: Street shooting

If shooting a particular scene/event makes you uncomfortable, you shouldn't shoot it.

Whenever possible, I ask people if they mind if I shoot photo/video of them. In a park or other public...

Re: T3i vs 5DMK2 (Video Only)

Take a 24mm 2.8 lens and put it on a T3i. Make a note of how wide of an area it covers. The put the same lens on a full frame 5DMII, and make note of the area it covers. You'll see you're getting...

Re: Auto iso

I thought I'd try it while filming my son's HS football game last week. The first fifteen minutes or so are in and out of the sunlight, with stadium lighs for fill.

It looked nasty... very...

Re: 5D at high altitude

20,000'? Wow.

I live at 8,500' and routinely shoot at 12-14,000', but not 20K. At this "lower altitude," the camera works flawlessly. You might want to make sure you have a good UV filter,...

Re: Gag me with a spoon

I transcoded because Apple swears everything is wonderful if you do. I tried the DVD-From-The-Storyline feature because it was there and I wanted to see how it worked. I already knew how it works in...

Gag me with a spoon

Just for grins and giggles I tried out the Burn-DVD-From-The-Timeline (oops, I mean storyline) feature. It was 160 football game clips from DSLR, no editing, no effects, no titles. The project was...

Re: 60d 7D proof

I've been really tempted to try it. In fact, I donated to its development. But right at the top of the download page this appears:

Re: A couple of questions

Not being able to edit to a precise time, or even just making the process difficult is... not well thought-out, and limits the potential of this program for serious work. That can't be what Apple...

Re: A couple of questions

That can't be what Apple intended. I must be missing something.

But I wound up doing it like that. It was very difficult to get to a precise time and mark it... kept going slightly beyond or...

A couple of questions

Okay, I've watched all the Jordan and Izzy training videos and played with it since about a week after it came out. I haven't tried anything serious with it because I'm not comfortable enought, yet....

Re: Anyone given up on the DSLR for event?

5D and 60D, althoiugh my preference is 5D. I'm absolutely enamored by the images they produce.

I sold my last EX3 a couple of months ago.

It's harder to use DSLR. You have to plan your shots...
