Mercury Playback Engine "real time" question
How big of a role does the processor(s) speed have on the ability to take advantage of the "real-time" editing with CS5 and MPE? All of the demo video I have seen, the users were on 8-core work...

HDV post issue
I have footage that I shot with a JVC GY-HD110 in 720p24 and captured with Premiere CS4. I am running Vista 64, 4gb ram, dual 2.4ghz processors.
I try to watch the .mpeg footage in Media Player...

Say I open a clip in AE CS4 and add some effects to it with plug-ins(that are NOT installed in PP). What is the simplest/best way to get that clip back into my PP timeline with the effects still...

Buying a customized PC from HP?
This has probably been beat to death. Is buying a custom PC from someone like HP a bad idea? Pricewise, it is very reasonable, compared to building the same thing off of NewEgg. Thanks.

Software and "long term" price not really an...
Software and "long term" price not really an issue. I just want to make sure one won't be way faster than the other(in PP and AE, working with HDV or AVCHD). Thanks guys for the input!

What is wrong?
I captured HDV into CS4 on one computer(XP 32 bit). The footage was saved to an external. I pull up the project on a different computer(Vista 64 bit), and all the clips have different in/out points....

How does this compare?
I am doing the dreadful debate between buying a Mac or custom PC. I've always heard the Macs are way superior over PCs when it comes to performance; I've always owned PC.

Slowing down footage
What is the best way to slow down a clip without it looking, of less quality? I try the speed/duration, but when put to DVD, it looks bad. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
