Hi all
One question to the folks who own one of these jibs. It says on the website that the jib will operate at 8ft and transport at 4ft. So my question is this: can you set it up or modify it to operate at varying distances between 4 and 8ft? Or is it only operational at the 8ft length? I'm looking for something around 4 to 5.5 ft and was just wondering, is all. Thanks! Cheers Chris |

This jib only works at it's assembled length of 8 feet. It's around 5' 7" from the stand/tripod to the camera end of the jib. There are two bolts that can be removed to fold the arm in half for transport. I actually leave the arm assembled, it fits in my Honda Accord if I put the back seat down.

Looks like my crane was shipped out a couple of days ago and will be received today.
Only bad thing is I already ordered another crane a day before he shipped it out, hmm guess I have two cranes now. Pretty crappy of him not to reply to his emails, he said on another forum he has the flu and has been working through it. I paid on the 3rd and he didn't ship out until the 23rd. I'm glad nothing horrible happened to him, but it's bad business doing what he did. One single post on the forum would have let everyone know his situation and would have only taken 30 seconds of his time, and I wouldn't now have 2 cranes. -Todd |

Sony VCL-HG0872 wide-angle converter for sale
Good people, I have the Sony VCL-HG0872 wide-angle converter for sale, complete with it leatherette draw-string pouch and Sony petal hood.
This is a beautifully made and beautifully coated 4 element, 550 gm wide-angle. It'll attach to any camera that has a 72 mm filter thread, but is designed for the FX1/Z1/FX1000/Z5 and so on. New they're £349 and I'm looking for £230. Almost impossible to tell from new and remarkably doesn't appear to barrel distort at all on my Z1. It's sharp throughout the full zoom range of course so can be left on forever, giving you a 26 - 312 mm zoom on the Z1 and its ilk. I'm in the UK. tom. |
