Re: Focus with DSLRs

Mark,
I believe the Carryspeed VF-4 is 3x magnification as well. The good thing is there are now quality choices at reasonable prices whereas in the past we were restricted to very expensive gear or...

Re: New wedding with the pana gh3 and sony nex-ea50

James,
I understand your point. If a client is picky or worried about his image I'll give them a choice of camera and explain the difference. They can pay an extra 100-200€ a day if the want a fancy...

Re: New wedding with the pana gh3 and sony nex-ea50

Noa,
I'm kinda hoping you take the plunge and buy the VG30. I'd really like to read a review by someone like you whose work I admire and whose opinions I consider very useful. Like we've commented...

Re: Anyone used the Tamron 17-50mm

I use it but on a canon dslr. It's maybe not the sharpest or best lens out there but it's the one i use the most as it's the most practical. it has a nice range from wide to 50. the image stabilizer...

Re: How do you handle run and gun with a dslr?

It's true that it's very difficult to find good reviews and footage of the VG30. I looked a t the GH3 but at the end of the day it's got the same form factor as any other DSLR. As I've got aps-c...

Re: How do you handle run and gun with a dslr?

I'd love to know more about the VG30 as I'm also a bit bored of DSLRs. I just can't find much quality info, be it a review or footage. The idea of peaking, zooming through a prime lens sounds a real...

Re: 'Not a very attractive bride'

I have found that the best solution for boring weddings is to hand over a blank dvd and to tell my client that after careful consideration I think this is the best option for their video. I then...

Re: New wedding with the pana gh3 and sony nex-ea50

I used a 7D, a 700D and a HF G25 for a couple of weddings but it was too much as a solo shooter.
Now I'm using the 700D and the G25 and it's much more comfortable. The 700D has advantages over the...

Re: VG30 moire

James,
what lenses do you use with the VG30? In what ways do you find it functional for weddings? I have a canon aps-c dslr, and whilst i can get very nice images out of it, i'm getting tired of...

Re: New wedding with the pana gh3 and sony nex-ea50

Great job Noa.
I have a question, how do you manage all your cameras? I mean, you use the steadycam whilst the couple enter the cocktail. Then, what? Do you put it down somewhere 'safe' then grab...

Re: Small Legria cam to match G25 and XA20 as a C cam

yeah, the canon hf m506 is only 300€ but it doesn't have much of a wide end and if i have to buy a wide adaptor it just pushes up the price!

Re: Small Legria cam to match G25 and XA20 as a C cam

The panasonic looks interesting but it's 430€ here. Seems a lot. How does it do in low light?
I'm really looking for something around 300-350€ that can handle churches, has decent wide angle and...

Re: Small Legria cam to match G25 and XA20 as a C cam

Thanks steve. I've heard the wide angle is not great and is restrictive. Is that the case? I ask as it's principle gob would be a locked off wide angle shot

Small Legria cam to match G25 and XA20 as a C cam

Does anyone use a small Legria camcorder that matches the look of the G25 and the XA20 (more or less)?
I'm looking for a camera that is cheap, reasonably good in low light, has a reasonably wide...

Re: Canon t3i or t5i for video? (B camera)

I have the t5i and the 7d. The 7d is slightly more flexible in difficult lighting due to having more ISOs to choose from but the t5i is way more comfortable to use. The flip-out touch screen is great...
