I don't know anything about that specific lens, but I do know that the reason why the camera is not correcting for it is because Canon disables auto correct of vignetting for its Canon glass only.

Yeah you can easily edit HDV through slower drives, but once you get to ProRes or XDCAM, etc, you are going to need at least internal SATA drives, and if its not going to be an internal drive...
