Re: EF Lenses - which gap?
My biggest question is what are you shooting? I think it's easy to get overly obsessed with "covering the range" when in fact it should be very rare that you need EVERY SINGLE POSSIBLE focal length...

Re: Corporate Same Day Edits?
Pre-production.
Saves all the hassle in the world. Knowing your story ahead of time saves a whole lot of over-shooting and over-editing. I wouldnt necessarily always script interviews, but if...

Re: How do I shoot slow motion with the 60d?
I feel like the information being offered here is confusing... When I shoot something I want slowed down on a canon DSLR I do it at 720 60fps, and shoot with as high a shutter speed as I can afford,...

Re: Why weddings?
I got into it because everyone says that's where the money is, then I kinda got out of it cause it was too repetitive for me.

Re: Easter Video for church
Awesome! Do you know which boom mic you used?
Did you shoot RAW and grade in premiere?
Somewhat random question: Is the EPIC yours or the church's?

Re: Easter Video for church
So. Good.
Storytelling was awesome man, hopefully next year we can do something that sweet for easter.
Now to nerd out for a sec:
Lenses? All Natural light? Audio? The only thing I noticed...

Re: NEX-EA50 as live event cameras?
Hmmm... I hadnt thought of the FS700 having SDI out.. What would you think of mixing cams so say we had 2 small chip cameras and an fs700, C100 etc, that would give us the flexibility of the church...

Re: NEX-EA50 as live event cameras?
Jim, I was thinking the issue was more constantly having to worry about the HDMI cord getting bumped out. I knew you could convert, just didnt know if you could lock somehow.
The cameras they're...

NEX-EA50 as live event cameras?
Hey guys! Quick question. I do a lot of video production for my church, and they're now moving into a big new auditorium and doing image magnification etc so they're moving to a 2-3 camera system....

Re: Anyone offer ONLY a highlight video?
Garrgh Tim, I thought I was the only one offering that in Mass :P
You could always MagicLantern a t3i and leave it on a tripod during the whole ceremony just to have that coverage for a full...

Re: C100 in Bright Sun - NDs insufficient
Not on a c100 yet, but I hop shutter on the 5diii a lot, I kinda like the look. Depends what you're shooting, but I find for a lot of stuff it conveys motion better actually.

Re: Question about Tota Lights
+1 to bounce. Unless you're bouncing it off a handheld mirror a wall is a way bigger lightsource than an umbrella, so automatically softer light ;)

Re: Sample highlights video
Biggest things:
Lose the vignettes
Stop smashing the contrast, everything is clipping constantly
Stop slowing down 75% of the footage or whatever you're doing to make it choppy
Start...

Re: Anyone offer ONLY a highlight video?
Travis!
I fall a little in the middle of everyone else here, my main product is a 15 minuteish highlight. I offer the full ceremony and speeches on a separate DVD, but they're far from the main...
