Swit 8U63 miniD-tap by Westside A V free STL file or buy ready made cable

The new Swit 8U63 batteries are great they plug right in to the FS7 no need for the jumper cable. And they have both USB and D-tap ports. However the T-tap placement makes it impossible yo use a Dtap...

Re: Anyone get the 7Q+ to work with Sony A7s & GH4?

At the moment the O7Q+ can record UHD (3840 x 2160) from the A7s up to 29.97P in ProResHQ.

And it works perfectly. I will post some footage here this week.

Re: Anyone get the 7Q+ to work with Sony A7s & GH4?

I have used both the Shogun and the O7Q+ with the A7s.

I was doing comparison tests when I found the blue frame problem with the Shogun, and I spent a lot of time testing that with different...

Re: Battery Life 7Q

It seems to last about 2 to 2 ½ hrs of solid recording UHD.

Mixed some rec and mostly just monitoring more like 3-4 hrs.

6.3A x 7.4V = 46W

So a new 970 should give you 2.5 hrs but always...

Re: Atomos Shogun with Sony A7s

You can turn the brightness down, but I have not tried to find a way to shut it off while recording. I have not seen it mentioned anywhere either.

We will all know more in a few days of playing...

Re: Atomos Shogun with Sony A7s

I get from 45-90 minutes with the Shogun battery, and I think it is 30Whrs, and as memory serves the 970 is 56Whrs.

So you should get 90-180 minutes, depending on how you are using the Shogun....

Re: Atomos Shogun with Sony A7s

I have noticed the same thing on the Odyssey 7Q, the ProRes is a bit more contrasty from the HDMI in the A7s. But in both cases there is no clipping highlights or crushing of the blacks even in very...

Re: Atomos Shogun with Sony A7s

Why do you say that? I think it actually works very well. Yes it is a bit more contrasty than the internal, but still a valid Slog IMHO.

To get the best idea of how the footage actually looks...

Re: 7Q dims down when recording UHD with FS700

That is to help the battery. If you are using 7.4v batteries.

It does not happen with 14.8v batteries.

It is because the watt draw on the O7Q is high 18w or even more when shooting UHD. It was...

Re: Odysee 7Q vs ATOMOS Shogun?

And the Odyssey will record 4K (UHD) in ProRes something Atomos "wants to do" but do not know if it is possible according to the last I heard. So compressed 4K is a long way off in the Shogun.

I...

Re: Odyssey 7Q and Time Lapse

The most notable ones I have shot are several days long.

I find it is useful to be able to do at least 12 hrs.

I also really like controlling the...
