Re: Attaching mattebox to GH2 with pancake lens

I suggest that if you have clients that need impressing with gear, you change them. In the long haul it will serve your career much better and save you money on gear you do not need.

Only one...

Re: DMW-MA1 Adaptor ?

This adapter allows all four thirds to fit micro, but you are still very limited to find fast wide angle zooms - ie. F2.8. Most are F.4

You can get the Sigma 10-20 at B&H and this is a good lens....

Re: Advice on using GH2 as a locked off wideshot video camera?

I would not use the GH2 for this. Very limited choices for very fast wide angles.

I would get the lower range Canons - 60D-2Ti ..... far better for wide angle shots - you have a great choice of...

Re: Attaching mattebox to GH2 with pancake lens

Actually there are pro's who do not use a mattebox - and they are shooting on Reds and Arri's - I know a few who dislike them. And for DSLRs it is a waste of time and causes more problems than it...

Re: Attaching mattebox to GH2 with pancake lens

Well for about $130 you can buy a variable ND filter and a lens hood and shoot outside all you want. And, your set up will be easy to balance both on a tripod and hand held. More importantly for me...

Re: Attaching mattebox to GH2 with pancake lens

Why would you want to? The mattebox will weigh more than the camera and lens combined - a recipe for disaster unless you support the lens and mattebox and it stays on a tripod.

I do not see the...

Re: Light Craft 52mm Fader ND Mark II Filter, any thoughts?

That is not a step down ring.

You can pick up all sizes of step down and step up adapters from ebay for about $5 each. They are indespensable unless you want to buy a set of filters for each lens...

Re: Light Craft 52mm Fader ND Mark II Filter, any thoughts?

Check out Genus brand also - they work well.

But why get the 52mm? This will not fit most other lenses then you need 2 or 3 more ND faders.

I use a 77mm ND and stop down rings to fit smaller...

Re: Best setup for wedding Videography?

I shoot docs not weddings but if you are coming from video cams to DSLRs with no traditional stills or photography background I would not advise the Canons. You need some basic photography experience...

Re: Where or how in the world do you get one?? (GH2)

On thing NOT to do is keep clicking around online looking for internet stores that have stock - it is pointless as most GH2's leave the store immediately.

Go to the two big distributors - AbelCine...

Re: Videomic Pro for GH1/GH2

I tried a 3.5 to 2.5 adapter from radioshack and could not get stereo both tracks to record. I was then told this adapter is for cellphones only and mono. Now it may be that radioshack sell more...

Re: Videomic Pro for GH1/GH2

I run the new Video Mic Pro on my GH2.

The radioshack adapter will not work - actually it will give you mono - one right or left track but not both.

You will need a stereo 3.5 to 2.5 adapter -...

Re: Canon 5d mark2 vrs Panasonic gh2

My point was this is a test of two camera images, not loud music - if you want to invite people to spend time watching it, then you have a responsibility to make it informative and enjoyable. This...

Re: Canon 5d mark2 vrs Panasonic gh2

I refuse to watch any video when it has loud obnoxious music that has no bearing on the images we are meant to see. Why do people do that? What are they thinking?

Recording uncompressed HD via HDMI to hardrives or SSD media

So the Ninja is shipping this week and I am told that it will work with the HDMI of the GH2 - if it does this is a game changer for uncompressed video? I still doubt this. At $995 its a dream come...

But this is the Ninja which starts shipping this week - half the price of the AJA!!!

The...

Re: RODE Videomic Pro

I just tested this with my GH2 using a simple 3.5 to 2.5 adapter. I get a single mono track recorded on the rigth channel only of the stereo track (left channel empty). Would this be correct does...

Creating and Using Custom Settings and Assigning Function Buttons

Just making my way through the first day. What a camera!

Do you have the intervalometer set to interval-timer mode? On the cheapo ones which I think you have, it is an icon that looks like a series of tiny bars. Then you set the interval between exposures....

The 14-140mm is a little slow for a concert and will present focusing problems in low light.
