The Hawk at the end was... just a thought I had. The end of the thing it caught and the end of the video.

I have to learn how to not pan! and Zoom. :)

The whole idea behind the Video was - To say goodbye to a friend going away for 6 months on the Trail.

Thanks for all the feedback

Chris

I'm off to GA tomm for 8 Day's to start Hiking the AT with Bill I'm sure going to use the tips for the video I shoot there.

Is there any word on an Australian launch or get together?

I have afew suppliers who would be interested in gathering afew people here in Sydney, and im sure there are many other Aus users out there who would be interested in something like as well.

any info would be greatly appreciated.

I'm out of suggestions for this particular problem, Peter. Sorry.
Uncompressed doesn't use any codec at all, so that can't be a
problem.

Peter,
It's looking fairly good that we'll be coming to Australia again with the VASST tour. Working that out now, for the summer. As far as launches go, that's handled by a different division of Sony, so they wouldn't likely comment to us at Sundance Media Group/VASST on their launch plans for down under....I'll ask about it though!

pls do!!!

it would be great to get a conglomerant (spelling?) down here to demo the new tools...

i used to go to the SoFo support forums for updates and info, but since sony took over, ive been a lil lax...

But in all honesty, theres just so much speculation out there, that i have decided to just wait until its released and i can get my hands on a demo or someone writes up a review :)

If you want full movement then the only way is rotoscoping and
adding 3D rendered objects with a 3D package. I remember seeing
a tutorial for Lightwave on such a thing once. But searching on
the world "building" in this regard doesn't yield very usable
results.

Vegas second colour corrector has a masking object which allows you to allocate the colour ( i thnk its the colour from memory, but i believe u can elect to mask an area "area" im not in front of it nwo so im not too sure, its teh eye dropper on teh left hand side...

anways, from here u can creat a mask of the background then crop a layer (for each building)

each building can then be motion tracked and then affected with something like Pixelan flow texture or someone within vegas to create the movement (swirl or tv simulator for teh waxy effect) (for EACH building) and you background will remain ok :)

Last time i did something like this was when V4 first came out, so i may have left out a step, but its similar to rotoscoping in Combustion (which is what i use now)

One thing I have noticed is that if your mpgs are constant bitrate, the degradation is minimized...

Upsampling footage for HD output on DVD

okies, i havent really done any research into this, but im lookin at it..

what i want to do is upsample my footage to 1080x720 25p HD

vegas lets me do this with project settings, and then i can edit and output using dvda.. no probs...

but is there something im missing???

something just seems left out.. i mean.. wouldnt dvda drop the resolution back down to 720x576?? UNLESS i specify it to retain the original project settings..

i havent had a chance to experiment.. i was just wondering if anyone had already tried this??

Audio help

I have put together a 4 min. video with cuts 2 transitions and a very basic CG. After render and play out to tape I want to add some music. I go back to the timeline set the courser to the first frame of video insert a new audio track audio #2 ..”#1 is the nat sound from the camera” .. As I try to place the music track on the timeline the video and the audio track get bumped back to the end of the new music track. Can someone tell me why..

And on another matter when I try to rip audio from the CD ROM Vegas sees only my CD/RW drive and it takes a long time to rip the cut. Anyway I can get Vegas to see the CD ROM instead. I looked at the drop down menu it sees the CD/RW or NONE
Thanks

Vince

Try turning OFF Ripple. Either push the button on the toolbar or press CTRL-L.

WHAT dropdown box did you look at? The one on the CD Capture screen? Or the one in preferences?
