The BM210 offers support for virtually any signal format from NTSC/PAL to HD and 2K, including advanced 12-bit, 4:4:4, and XYZ signal formats.

This unit features many broadcast monitor basics like a Blue Only Mode, Monochrome Mode, Markers, Safety Areas, H/V Delay, and Tally Lights. Like all Flanders Scientific monitors the BM210 also comes standard with advanced features like 12 Selectable Scopes, Focus Assist, Time Code Display, Audio Disembedding, Audio Level Meters, Artifact Free Pixel Zoom, Adjustable Exposure Check, On-screen Alarms, and Advanced Pixel Level Measurement. This unit also provides additional advanced capabilities including live side-by-side monitoring of 2 inputs and dual LUT import capabilities (both look LUTs and calibration LUTs).

Color space management is handled by our CFE2 Color Fidelity Engine. This advanced second generation 64x64x64 Matrix 3D LUT processor ensures a high degree of accuracy in any color space mode. Select between Rec 709, EBU, SMPTE-C, DCI-P3, Native Wide Gamut, and Custom User Generated color spaces. CFE2 supports custom calibration LUTs as well as look LUTs that do not require profiling of the panel with a probe before import (e.g. BlackMagic Design Film Mode to Rec 709 LUT, LogC to Rec 709 LUT, etc.)

In addition to the CFE2 capabilities the monitor comes equipped with instantly selectable gamma, peak luminance, and color temperature presets, adding to the flexibility of this unit and making it suitable for a wide variety of applications and environments. The BM210 has the ability to work in several different color spaces modes with an instantly selectable color space menu option. Choose between REC 709, SMPTE C, EBU, DCI-P3, Native Wide Gamut, and Custom User Generated color spaces. Color space management is handled by our advanced 64x64x64 Matrix 3D LUT Color Fidelity Engine ensuring a high degree of accuracy in any mode. Additional instantly selectable gamma, peak luminance, and color temperature presets add to the flexibility of this unit making it suitable for a wide variety of applications and environments. Like all FSI monitors the BM210 comes pre-calibrated from the factory and free recalibration is always available for customers that would like to send their units in to one of FSI’s service departments. In addition to this free recalibration option the BM210 also features a wide variety of manual calibration toggles, interfaces with FSI’s Direct Connect Automatic Alignment System, and is also compatible with advanced color management systems like LightIllusion’s LightSpace CMS or SpectraCal’s CalMan allowing you to choose the color management option that works best for you.

The BM210 is equipped with 3Gbps SDI (SMPTE 425M-AB) & Dual Link SDI (SMPTE 372M) inputs, which provide support of advanced formats including 4:4:4 RGB, 4:4:4 YCbCr, and 4:4:4 XYZ signals. With support of both Level A and Level B 3Gbps SDI the BM210 is compatible with virtually all 3Gbps SDI sources and provides many advanced viewing modes for multiplexed (2 x SMPTE 292M) Level B signals as explained here.

At just 9 lbs and 28 Watts power consumption the BM210 is incredibly well suited as a field monitor with lower weight and power consumption than many 17” monitors on the market. The monitor can be powered via AC (100~240VAC) or DC (12V 4 PIN XLR) connectors. Optional accessories like the CBH21 (Carrying Bag with Integrated Hood) and MM20 (VESA to C-Stand Adaptor) provide additional versatility for field use.

The BM210 has been built specifically as FSI’s affordable do everything monitor. Use it in the field, use to edit, even use it for basic broadcast video color correction, we’ve built this this monitor to meet all of those needs and more. The BM210 represents one of the best values in our lineup and you simply won’t find anything else comparable at this price on the market.
