Re: how much light does slo-mo need

Lots meaning 3-4 stops more over standard 24fps settings. That does assume a 360 degree shutter when shooting 240fps. If you jump to 1/500 on the shutter then it becomes 4-5 stops.

Re: how much light does slo-mo need

If you are going to shoot 240fps versus 24fps you will need 3-4 stops more exposure for the slow-mo stuff. Shooting outdoors during the day isn't a problem at all.

Re: EX3 captured colour inaccurate

Re: EX3 captured colour inaccurate

LED lighting causes trouble with most cameras. It looks to me like you clipped the chroma distorting the color.

Can you take a look at the images with a RGB parade waveform? What do the waveforms...

Re: Dedicated high speed cameras

With v3 of the FS700 firmware you can get continuous high speed out of the camera to a compatible recorder.

To utilize that ability it will run closer to $15k for a FS700 and compatible recorder.

Re: Sony EX1 Power Supply Issue

Have you checked the switch? That I suspect would be the most likely place where a failure occurs. It could be a pretty simple fix.

Re: SxS copy issue

I discovered a bug and reported it to Sony a year ago. I use AMA on Avid and if I copied a card using the clip browser AMA wouldn't recognize it but if I copied the BPAV folder directly through...

Re: White balance beginner mistakes

Regardless of the method you choose to use for doing white balance during the shoot I recommend that you roll 10-20sec on the balance card to help in post.

Re: FS700 Hand Grip replacement

I'll take a look at mine but I expect you should be able to replace the cable if you or someone you know have some soldering ability.

Re: sxs issue

Did you get a message from the camera to fix the files?

You should try to download them again now if they play in the camera.

Re: first major problem with fs700

I have seen corruption that looked like that with my EX1 when I was first experimenting with SD cards and adapters. I stopped having problems when I went to better cards.

That isn't to say that...

Re: PMW-200: Polarized vs. UV filters

I would recommend giving it a try before you commit to using a polarizer. A UV filter doesn't change the look of the image but a polarizer can change it dramatically. It can change it differently...

Re: UPrezzing C300 to 2K

There is no problem displaying HD on a 2k projection system.

2k is 2048x1080 and HD is 1920x1080.

You won't be able to tell the difference.

Re: Boompoles with coiled cables. Are they noisey?

I've not had any problems with the section locks. They have a texture and are pretty easy to grip. You don't need to put a lot of pressure on them to tighten them up. If you do they are difficult to...

Re: How can I check the specs of a video signal of an HDMI cable?

My PIX240 will do that. If you know someone near you that has one you can connect a PIX240 or PIX220 to your camera and see the video mode.
