Only?

Does this mean that there will NOT be a 24P Quicktime capability added to the FS-4Pro?

Hard drive space

This discussion has been extremely helpful. Here's my capturing/editing workflow-

-shoot with HD100A at 24fps
-capture to my Firestore FS4 and to tape
-copy transport streams from FS4 to my...

Looks like mine's on it's way back home, except that it's being shipped second-day air, not overnight. So, no "giggle of the mouse-" this seems to be an arbitrary policy.

Did you get a notification email once they received it, or only when they shipped it? I shipped mine last week & got notification (from my end) that it was properly delivered, but no word that they...

I've got both and recently did an event videography gig using both cameras. The HD100 was switched to SD DV mode. They match up nicely, but the HD100 has a much sharper picture- I'm assuming...

Cavision OK by me

I got a set of Cavision filters- the set with a black mist, an ND grad, a sky blue grad, a sunset grad, and a polarizer, and think they're great. I use the black mist all the time. I bought mine...

Ditto

I sold my Eclair NPR S16 last fall and bought an HD100 with the money. Never looked back.

I found the company

The web address is www.zoerk.com. Looks like there's a JVC video to Nikon F mount adapter for $399. Is that it?

I wonder how bad the CA would be with SLR lenses... couldn't be TOO bad...

SLR lenses for HD100

This is interesting to me- even without a Redrock Micro or other adapter. I recently used an Eclair NPR S16mm film camera with an expensive Angenieux zoom on it. I took a c-mount to Canon FD...

This just in from the NAB update emails:

"At NAB 2006, Apple made several small announcements including: native 24p support in Final Cut Pro for Sony XD CAM HD camera and JVC GY-HD100 U camera;...

Sounds like I need to set the camera up and do my own tests. I'm an old Zone System photographer, so reading a spot meter feels pretty comfortable. It would be nice to put my Sekonic L-508 to good...

What would the ASA be?

Hello all:

If I were shooting 24p with the gain at 0 and no ND filter, what's the light sensitivity of the CCDs, and how would the camera compare to film? What film speed would be shot to get...

I'm puzzled. I'm using those 24fps clips (not conformed to 23.98) in a 23.98 FCP sequence, and they drop in fine with no rendering. Is it possible that FCP reports the clips as being 24fps when in...

After transcoding the m2t stream into DVCPROHD the output footage is actually 24fps, not 23.98.

I'll see if I can find something pretty and send it over.

Timecode

At this point I'm still experimenting, but I'm planning on relying on the FS-4 for clips imported into my computer. I believe there's a way to sync the camera's time code with the FS-4's, yes?

Mine works fine

I got my HD100 about a month ago and I have not noticed the split-screen yet. Can't say that I have pushed it to the limits, but I certainly have no complaints.
