Re: Filming outside CHRISTMAS lights with XH-A1

Mike.
The XHA1 is a brilliant camera but performance in low light is its weak spot.
It should pick up the highlights well if they are bright enough.
You could try slowing the shutter speed if...

Re: creative video experiences

Agreed.
I placed a pre-order with them and cancelled it. Their communication was excellent and they refunded my deposit without a murmur. It made me feel quite guilty about cancelling actually!
A...

Re: Canon EF-S 10-22mm on C300?

Attached is a screengrab from a shoot with a C100 and EF-S 10-22mm .
Somewhere along the route via VLC and iphoto it has been cropped slightly. I don't have time to work out why.
So it is not as...

It is still a bit early on Sunday morning so I may have misunderstood your posting.
Wouldn't it be easier to plug the mixer into one of the xlr sockets on the handle? This will give you a...

C100 lanc/remote control

I plugged my Bebob Zoe lanc controller into the C100 to see what it would do.
I can switch on and off and start and stop recording.
In my dreams I hoped it might do push autofocus with the Canon EF...

Re: My mini-doc went viral!

What a great idea!
It works so well.
As a male I find it a bit worrying that most of the older ones are female.

Re: SD cards for C100 in UK?

Thanks Mark
I couldn't agree more. I always used 16 GB cards on my 5D for that reason. Also because the batteries lasted about the same time.
I think that this morning I either needed a new brain...

Re: SD cards for C100 in UK?

Whoops.
I said I didn't know much about SD cards.

I got my MBs and my GBs mixed up.
The C100 won't record to 64 MB or smaller.
Not 64 GB or smaller as I read it.

BTW For anyone reading this...

SD cards for C100 in UK?

Can anyone recommend a supplier of cards SD cards suitable for a C100 in the UK for next day delivery?
128 gb seems to be the appropriate size but I am not certain about this.
I am new to SD cards...

Re: How many other 5-year-old cameras are STILL being sold brand new today?

The Sony A1 was my first camera.
Followed by a Canon XHA1.
Then a Canon 5Dmk2.
And next week I will take delivery of a Canon C100.

Which camera do I love most - the 5Dmk2.
Does that mean I...

Re: Canon EOS C100

On the subject of the HyperDeck Shuttle.
My preferences is for a recorder that becomes part of the camera.
That means fixing it underneath the camera with a tripod plate beneath the shuttle, so...

Re: One song, One take, One camera.

Covering a single track in one shot is an interesting challenge.
You seem to have cut in a bit of B roll and use some effects to cover up any unwanted transitions which works OK.
I did something...

Re: shooting drama in a night club - advice please

Update.

Unfortunately we are not going to be using the C300.

We were told January but it is looking more like mid February before these cameras are delivered.

Too late for this shoot.

:-(

Great. Many thanks Charles

The producers have postponed the shoot until February. I am back on board as DoP so this thread will no longer be academic.

I have been promised a C300 for a 5 day...

Re: shooting drama in a night club - advice please

Re: Beginner Equipment

A good point and a nice film.
It demonstrates the value of a bit of half decent sound too. I don't think that film would have nearly as much impact without the intro. It makes you feel like it is...
