Re: Wow is all I can say.

Strange that you wouldn't see it. I put it in Manual, go to Motion Picture Menu (the one that looks like a video camera, second one down on the left) go to the second page and I see a 'continious...

Re: What Brand Filter For Protection

I had to send back a 5 grand fuji lens to be reground because someone opened a door and the knob scratched the lens. Happily I did not to pay for it but now I never practice unsafe videography.

Re: What Brand Filter For Protection

A scratch on a UV filter is a lot cheaper to replace than a scratch on a lens.

Re: Lens Adapter List

This is what I am using for my Nikon lenses. However your lens must have a manual iris in order to control the f-stop. Also it will be manual focus only.
But the image is very sharp.

Re: Frustrated with the wait

It would appear that Amazon is still selling them. I think they get it from Onecall. And they have the Panasonic DMW-BLB13 Battery for Panasonic G Series, but I don't remember if that is the right...

Re: XLR adapters and SOUND recording options for GH series

Thanks Jeff. I will think on it. Right now I am only going to use the GH2 as a second lock down camera but that could change.

Re: XLR adapters and SOUND recording options for GH series

When you say the unit lacks phantom power you mean that what ever mike you use has to be self powered. Wouldn't a wireless lav work if its powered by AA batteries like mine is?
Not sure you can...

Re: Gh2 5D footage

Having owned both (I no longer have the 5D) I would start by putting the 5D Picture Style to Standard
(Standard, Portrait, Landscape, Neutral, Faithful, Monochrome, User Def. 1-3)
And on the GH2...

Re: Wow is all I can say.

Paul there are different menus depending on what mode you have the camera in. Go to the Manual mode and in the Motion picture menu, go to page 2 and you will see 'continuous AF' and set it to off....

Re: 14-140mm with GH2 is great

I can tell you what I did. On the top left of the camera is a dial and moved it to AFS ...auto focus single.
Then in the menu settings turn off 'contiuous auto focus'.
This will allow to to change...

Re: Motion artifacts, help!

So since the final product is to be put on a DVD (unless the client asks for Blu-ray), what looks best after converting to SD and burned on a DVD?
I am shooting in 1080p 24 but when I post on Vimeo...

Re: GH2: Vulture Mine, Wickenburg AZ

There seems to be more detail with the GH2. I can really tell the difference on the rusting car.
Strange. I would have thought the 7D would have an equal PQ.

Re: GH2: Vulture Mine, Wickenburg AZ

The GH2 looks sharpest of the 3 but I don't know which lens you used on the 7D or if both were done in 1080p.
Thanks for the comparison.
I am saving for the 7-14 lens.

Re: Manual is not fully Manual

Ok...strange. I just clicked the link on your post, Wonder how the other GH2 test came up.
You must be lovin' the Voigtländer Nokton 25mm f/0.95. Wish I could afford one.

Re: Manual is not fully Manual

You can not go to 720p in the Creative Movie Mode '24p Cinema;. So that would mean using the Manual Movie Mode' in the Creative Movie setting. It seems to do it there on 1080i and 720p. And the...

Re: Manual is not fully Manual

Darn I can't get it to work after trying with both exposure and focus in manual. Have the shutter speed at 1 second. Must be doing something wrong, am not getting time lapse.

Re: Manual is not fully Manual

This is a dark room? Looks like you shot it outside. You got the effect I was trying to get. You say it needs to be in manual focus to achieve the streaking?

Re: GH2 in the studio

Very nice! Impressive....which camera did you use for the stills?
So how does the GH2 stack up against the 5D full frame in video?

Re: Manual is not fully Manual

Yeah I was experimenting here to get some blurring effect. As you say it works fine in the still mode but I can't seem to be able to do it in the video mode. In the Creative Mode you can not go...
