Something I've noticed lately is that Vegas 11 is very stable when I work with MPEG-2 files, as soon as I start editing DSLR MPEG-4 files Vegas starts crashing on regular basis.

My personal advice would be to look at Adobe Encore. You don't get a better DVD/BD authoring solution than that. I edit in Vegas & author in Encore, DVDA really doesn't hold a candle in comparison....

Usually when you "scrub" all effects are turned off automatically however as you have no effects on maybe Vegas decreases the quality of the clip while you are scrubing to increase performance?...
