|
I never saw the film, but from having seen the trailer, I'm gonna guess "The 40 Year Old Virgin".

Ok hang man it is!
_ _ _ _ _ _ this should be easy... |

Is it, "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" ??? The scene is early in the film after the run-in with Francis, and the line is spoken by Francis in reference to Pee Wee's date with .....Dottie...I think. -Jon |
nope...not Pee Wee's Big Adventure.
But a very good guess :) Alot of people I talk to have not seen this movie and I have no idea why. |
Hmm... I *think* I've seen it. Pecker?
|
The movie be HOT ROD
|
DING DING DING!!
The movie is indeed Hot Rod. Clip below :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssBcAg3ZFwQ |

is it an older movie? |
Pecker is a 1998 John Waters film starring Edward Furlong, Christina Ricci and Bess Armstrong:
http://imdb.com/title/tt0126604/ As usual, I was totally out to lunch mis-matching your quote to that movie... Slowly backing away... |

Movie sounds good, I'll have to rent it. |
Please Kent!!!!
Post A New Quote!!!!
|
Kent's delay has unfortunately forfeited his turn. So here's a dead-easy giveaway just to get the ball rolling again. The winner needs to post a new quote challenge with 24 hours. Here we go:
"Is this Heaven?" "No. It's Iowa." |
Field Of Dreams
|
Or else what?
Field O' Dreams EDIT: Mike, you beat me to it! |
Looks like Chris is busy and probably returning from NAB, so I will assume I was right and post a new one to keep the flow.
I'll make it pretty easy: The main characters were Sean Connery, Mark Harmon, and Jack Warden. Jack Warden' character says, "Listen man, I screwed up.....................I'm gonna make things right." Mike |
The Presidio

Your turn and we are back rolling again. Mike |
the names of the actors is what gave it away for me.
here's one of my favorite movie quotes ever! "I know we've only known each other four weeks and three days, but to me it seems like nine weeks and five days. The first day seemed like a week and the second day seemed like five days. And the third day seemed like a week again and the fourth day seemed like eight days. And the fifth day you went to see your mother and that seemed just like a day, and then you came back and later on the sixth day, in the evening, when we saw each other, that started seeming like two days, so in the evening it seemed like two days spilling over into the next day and that started seeming like four days, so at the end of the sixth day on into the seventh day, it seemed like a total of five days. And the sixth day seemed like a week and a half. I have it written down, but I can show it to you tomorrow if you want to see it." |
"the jerk" Steve martin. Awesome!
|
absolutely
|
OK I'm watching this one right now (again) hopefully this quote hasn't been used yet.
1: "Well I guess I jsut gotta.. gotta love you and let go, hmm?" 2: "well I guess" 1:"Well, I ain't askin' what you gonna do when you get out, cause I'l be dead and it don't matter" |

DING DING that's right, your turn.

Quote:
"Listen to them... the children of the night. What sweet music they make. " |
Quote:
That one is taken from "Bram Stoker's Dracula" from 1992. Spoken by Gary Oldman. The quote is almost identical from Bela's delivery from 1931 with a word or two added. -Jon |
Quote:

"Apparently, none of you have ever seen a new teacher before."
That's it. It's a short quote and the first line spoken by this character in the film. I can add a few more lines from the scene if not guessed quickly enough. I tried to find a workable line that would not be too easy to cheat with via Google. -Jon |

Blackboard Jungle?
|
Nope. Neither Dangerous Minds, nor Blackboard Jungle.
-Jon |
The Faculty?

I'm sure I've seen that movie - the quote sounds really familiar! Was the character a man or a woman?
|
Poitier, in To Sir With Love?

Quote:
Keep 'em coming. I'll add more lines or a hint in a few hours if not guessed by then. -Jon |
I can only help but try another obvious title,
The substitute |
Quote:
No, not the substitute. Time for a hint. The character who speaks the line I quoted earlier (it is his first line in the film) is certainly one of the focal characters in the movie, but not necessarily the main character. So I can head a few other guesses off at the pass before they even get posted. "Stand and Deliver" ? No "Lean on Me"? No "Freedom Writers" ? No OH, I KNOW....IS IT "DEAD POET'S SOCIETY" ? WOW !!!!!! ...... NO ! Uggggh. Okay,... um ... "The Emperor's Club" ... "Mr. Holland's Opus" .... that "Summer School" movie with Mark Harmon?.. No, No, and No. AHHHHH. Freakin' "Harry Potter and the somethin somethin"?????!!!! No, dude. Chill out. breathe. The film includes an ensemble cast, but the quoted character is a focal character, the quoted scene is in a classroom, and there are a few classroom scenes in the movie. And...no...I'm not using something as obscure as the classroom scene early in the "Eddie and the Cruisers" film in which Tom Berenger quotes Wordsworth, nor the intermittent classroom scenes from the Indy Jones films. The classroom scene from which I quoted is also an important and almost pivotal scene from early in the movie that thus far has not yet been guessed, and for which I may offer additional quotes tomorrow. -Jon |
