Good job Willis! "Crash" is one of my favorite movies, and I recommend it to all. The floor is yours!

Willis Petti February 7th, 2007 01:53 PM

ok, this is one of my favorite movies that i can sit down and watch anytime (unless the kids are in the room that is)

henchman:He's askin' about Alabama.
bad guy: Where the f--- is that bitch?
good guy: She's with me.
bad guy: Who the f--- are you?
good guy: I'm her husband.
bad guy: [Laughs] Well, that makes us practically related.

Mark Bournes February 7th, 2007 02:03 PM

I know this movie...true romance, great flick, great cast, can't watch it with the wife or kids.

Willis Petti February 7th, 2007 04:24 PM

Well that took a whole 10 mins.

I guess that one was to easy.

Your turn Mark.

Barry Gribble February 7th, 2007 06:13 PM

Willis,

Great job and welcome to the board. Chris Hurd, who runs the place, doesn't allow profanity in the posts, though... even if it is quoting. Would you please be so kind as to edit the post with some #@!#$@ replacements?

Thanks, and welcome again.

Willis Petti February 8th, 2007 07:57 AM

I'm sorry, I won't make that mistake again, is there anyway to edit the post to minimize the damage?

Again, i'm sorry and won't happen again.

Willis

Barry Gribble February 8th, 2007 07:59 AM

There should be an edit button at the bottom right of your post... Thanks so much.

That policy and the requirement to use your own names combine to make this one of the most civil venues on line.

Mark Bournes February 8th, 2007 09:25 AM

"That's what I love about these high school girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age."

This one's not too hard, it's from one of my favorite movies.

Alex Sprinkle February 8th, 2007 10:30 AM

The movie title is too short for a post, so i'm adding this sentence. The answer is:

Grind!

Mark Bournes February 8th, 2007 10:41 AM

Sorry it's not "Grind"

I'll give some clues if there are a few more incorrect answers.

Alex Sprinkle February 8th, 2007 11:54 AM

I was pretty sure that it was in Grind (as well), so I checked it out. It is, but it was in reference to the other movie. It listed the name, but I won't post it. I should check that movie out sometime.

Mark Bournes February 8th, 2007 11:58 AM

It's a cult classic, I can't say much more without giving it away.

Charles Papert February 8th, 2007 11:59 AM

"Dazed and Confused". Just watched it recently on satellite, hadn't seen it since it came out (when I was a lot closer to that age...!) Matthew McConaughey has never been better. "Hey man, you got a joint? I'd be a lot cooler if you did..."

I know this one!
Dazed and Confused!

I believe Matthew McConaughey's character says it...

Mike Horrigan February 8th, 2007 12:01 PM

Doh!

DOH! Missed by a few seconds... :)

Charles Papert February 8th, 2007 12:03 PM

I guess, that was a squeaker!!!

I gotta run anyway, go ahead and post your clue.

Mark Bournes February 8th, 2007 12:10 PM

Charles, I couldn't decide which quote to use, they're both great from that movie, definitley reminds me of high school at that time. May be Matthew McConaughey's best role in a movie.

Tag your it...

Charles Papert February 8th, 2007 11:42 PM

Sorry, thought Mark was going to take over for me. OK, how bout this one:

"Laugh while you can, monkey boy!"

Jonathan Jones February 8th, 2007 11:44 PM

I'll hazard a guess. Did Robin Williams speak this line in "Jumanji"?
-Jon

Andy Graham February 9th, 2007 05:42 AM

I'll throw in a guess as well, was it planet of the apes? (the 1968 charlton heston version)

Andy.

Charles Papert February 9th, 2007 11:43 AM

Nope. Nope.

Jonathan Jones February 9th, 2007 12:25 PM

Aladdin?
-J.

Charles Papert February 9th, 2007 12:33 PM

OK, hint time.

The line was spoken by an American actor in a mock Italian accent.

The film is a cult classic.

It has a long title, but it is usually referred to by two words.

Jonathan Jones February 9th, 2007 12:40 PM

Is it Buckaroo Bonzai?

AKA "The Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai Across the the 8th Dimension"

-Jon

Charles Papert February 9th, 2007 01:31 PM

Bingo!

(although it's "Banzai")

Jonathan Jones February 9th, 2007 01:36 PM

Cool. It was synchronicity at work. Ten minutes before you offered your hint, I had just read about Peter Weller's new career in the current issue of Wired, and I had just gotten to thinking about Buckaroo Banzai and had it on the brain as I read your post. Weird.

Okay, I'll post the next one in a few minutes.

-J.

Jonathan Jones February 9th, 2007 07:00 PM

Okay, here's an easy one.

Person 1: (forced whisper) "We thought you was a toad."

Person 2: (quizzical look with a silent "huh?")

Person 1: "We...thought...you...was...a...TOAD!"

Lorinda Norton February 9th, 2007 07:38 PM

That movie is rife with quotable lines! (At least I think I've got it right.) Nice choice, Jonathan. If you can, give a couple more before we "r-u-n-n-o-f-t" to another one. :)

"Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"

Jonathan Jones February 9th, 2007 08:23 PM

Yeah, the Cohen brothers tend to make movies that are completely filled with quotable lines. One of my all time favorites continues to be Raising Arizona which I quote from all the time.

Here are a few more from "Oh Brother" before you carry us into the next round:

----
"Sorry, Pete. I know we're kin but...they got this depression on. I got to do for me and mine."
-----

"I'm a Dapper Dan man."

----

Pete: "You stole from my kin!"

Ulysses: "Who was fixin' to betray us."

Pete: "You didn't know that at the time!"

Ulysses: "So I borrowed it till I did know."

Pete: "That don't make no sense."

Ulysses: "Pete, its a fool looks for logic in the chambers of the human heart."

----

Delmar: "And we was beat up by a bible salesman, and banished from Woolworths....I don't know Evert, was that the one branch or all of em?"

------

Okay Lorinda,
Your turn to set up the next round.

-Jon

Lorinda Norton February 9th, 2007 08:39 PM

Ahh...those were great! Think I'll be digging it out for a late movie tonight. Thanks.

Here's something for "kids:"

#1: Do you really want to kill me?

#2: Just think of it as...you're being let go...that your life's going in a different direction...that your body's part of a permanent outplacement...

#3: Hey! That's kinda like what he said to you when you got fired.

#2: I know. It's called a cruel irony...like my dependence on you.

Lorinda Norton February 10th, 2007 10:54 AM

Animated Disney...

David Spade, Patrick Warburton...

Mike Horrigan February 10th, 2007 07:46 PM

Emperor's New Groove!

Lorinda Norton February 10th, 2007 08:24 PM

Yup! Finally, someone with kids came along! Take it, Mike. :)

Mike Horrigan February 10th, 2007 09:05 PM

Thanks, Lorinda!

Quote:

I can see you. I know who you are. I watch you... I KNOW. I am what you see. I am what you watch. I am it. I am the hands. I am the feet. I am the eyes. I am the body. I. AM. (Obvious reference deleted) THE WATCHER. THE FEAR. THE ETERNAL. THE SAINT! You are nothing.
Good luck!

Jonathan Jones February 11th, 2007 02:34 AM

I'm shocked that this one hasn't been guessed yet. I'm not going to post the answer myself, because I don't want take the conch for the next round as my brain is jelly from a long editing session.

But someone needs to be able to guess this one. This film is practically REQUIRED WATCHING for anyone who possesses even a passing interest in the creation of motion pictures.

Great quote, Mike.

-Jon

Andy Graham February 11th, 2007 04:48 AM

Citizen Kane, widely regarded as the best movie ever made.

Anyway here's another one for ya

"These are great days we're living in, we're jolly green giants walking the earth..........with guns"

i don't expect this one to last very long.

Alex Sprinkle February 12th, 2007 12:20 AM

Seven-six-two millimeter ... aka... Full metal jacket!

New Quote: "I can't dance. My limbs are lethal weapons. Innocent people got hurt trying to teach me dance."

Hugh DiMauro February 12th, 2007 12:47 PM

I'll give this a shot.

Angus.

At one time, I was that fat teen with a crush on the pretty girl.

Alex Sprinkle February 12th, 2007 01:47 PM

Great job! That was one of my favorite movies growing up. Your quote!

Hugh DiMauro February 12th, 2007 01:57 PM

Okay, Here Goes...

"They?! Who in the hell is they?"

"Haw haw haw haw! They? Why they is as plain and fancy they! That's who they is! Caught ya, didn't they? Tied a tin can to your tail! Led you in and waltzed you out again! Ha ha ha ahhh ha Oh my, what a bunch! Big tough ones, eh? Here you are with a hand full of holes, a thumb up yer ass and a big grin to pass the time of day with! Theyyyyyy! Who the hell is theyyyy!"
