alrighty then. Here's a quote from a movie I've been quoting a lot lately. The real problem is finding the right one, because there are so many gems.

"1st Character: Hey you, penny for your thoughts.
2nd Character: ----, tomorrow is the least of our problems.
1st Character: Don't tell me, Oh don't tell me, don't even tell me you have crabs!
2nd Character: No... Yes, but that's not the point. "

Paul Tauger January 13th, 2008 12:09 AM

I had to look this one up and it's not even a movie I've ever even heard of, so I'll withhold my guess.

Sean Skube January 14th, 2008 12:24 PM

It's not the most well known movie, but not entirely obscure either. It's been on a couple cable tv networks before.

how about another hint?

"Character 1: Now finish up them taters, I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.
Character 2: Come on - what?
Character 1: Finish up the taters.
Character 2: And then what did you say?
Character 1: And then what did I say?
Character 2: You said you were going to... fondle your sweaters.
Character 1: Uh, uh - no I didn't. I said fondue with cheddar, I was thinking about making fondue with cheddar cheese for dinner tonight.
Character 2: No Gene, that is not what you said.
Character 1: That is what I said. Fondue with cheddar. "

Interesting cast!

Jonathan Jones January 14th, 2008 10:25 PM

This is not a movie that I've seen so its only a guess, but I'm going to guess, "Hairspray".

Wet Hot American Summer!!

Sean Skube January 15th, 2008 11:16 AM

Dana Reynolds January 15th, 2008 12:22 PM

"If I wasn't a key player in this whole conspiracy to brainwash the youth of America with rock music, we could totally date"

Andy Graham January 16th, 2008 09:03 AM

only seen it once so i dont remember the line but it sounds like the plot of "josie and the pussycats"

am i right?

Nate Benson January 16th, 2008 03:50 PM

"who does your taxes?"

Sean Skube January 16th, 2008 04:03 PM

Ghostbusters, but I'm pretty sure it's Andy's turn to post a quote, since he seems to have guessed that last one correctly.

Oh, I know that one! It's from the Bridge of Death scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. This is the entire sequence:

Bridgekeeper: Stop. What... is your name?
King Arthur: It is 'Arthur', King of the Britons.
Bridgekeeper: What... is your quest?
King Arthur: To seek the Holy Grail.
Bridgekeeper: Since he seems to have guessed that last one correctly, what... is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

Sean Skube January 16th, 2008 11:54 PM

ha ha ha ha ha!!! that must have been in the directors cut. :)

Dana Reynolds January 17th, 2008 09:11 AM

Josie and the Pussycats was correct.

Andy Graham January 17th, 2008 03:54 PM

ok this might go quickly

"The war has killed love. And those that confess to the 'edited give away' are punished, and no one dare ask where they go"

great movie.

I got confused for a moment by the "edited give away" -- I thought it was part of the quote.

It's from The Killing Fields.

Andy Graham January 17th, 2008 05:02 PM

thought it would be a fast one,

fire away.

Paul Tauger January 17th, 2008 10:54 PM

Okay, time for a change of pace. This may be very easy:

"I'm looking for baggage that goes with mine."

Paul Tauger January 19th, 2008 11:48 PM

Is this a stumper, or has everyone lost interest? Shall I give a hint?

Sean Skube January 21st, 2008 04:47 PM

It's a stumper for me. 8 Heads in a Duffle Bag?
I'm guessing though that the quote is referring to emotional baggage, not physical baggage.

Paul Tauger January 21st, 2008 04:54 PM

Okay, another hint:

"I'm a New Yorker. Fear's my life."

Sean Skube January 22nd, 2008 09:15 AM

When Harry Met Sally?

Dave Robinson January 22nd, 2008 09:40 AM

I think it's Rent? But I might be wrong.

Mark Bournes January 22nd, 2008 03:12 PM

It is rent ...your turn

"Why do you always talk to God and not to me?"

Bradley D Barber January 23rd, 2008 07:08 AM

I'm going with, and please dont laugh me off this board, Steel Magnolias

Dave Robinson January 23rd, 2008 07:56 AM

Good effort, but I'm afraid not.

Sean Skube January 23rd, 2008 10:03 AM

I'm not really with you on the English connection side of things but.............no.

This is great, it's the first quote I've come up with that hasn't been guessed correctly straight away! woohoo.

Sean Skube January 23rd, 2008 03:17 PM

The Apostle?

Mark Bournes January 23rd, 2008 04:13 PM

No, good movie though!

Is a hint required?

Bradley D Barber January 24th, 2008 09:52 AM

Yes. This has me stumped.

Paul Tauger January 24th, 2008 09:58 AM

I think I know the answer, but I'm going to let it go 'round a few more times before I put my guess on the table. ;)

Josh Chesarek January 24th, 2008 10:18 AM

King Arthur?

Sean Skube January 24th, 2008 10:37 AM

Leap of Faith?
