42 and looking forward to being older. When I turned 30, I looked back at what I was in my twenties and couldn't believe I was that stupid. When I turned 40, I looked back at what I was in my thirties and couldn't believe I was that stupid. *laugh* Maybe I'll change once my body starts to decay, but for now, I'm very happy to be the age I am and only see myself improving as time goes on.

Alvaro Nannicini October 29th, 2006 08:01 AM

Right Mr Scott

Same situation , for now 56, next year 57 :-).

Peter Heath October 30th, 2006 07:58 AM

Kids, kids, kids ... Now when 'I' was a boy! Winters were colder, summers were hotter, snow was deeper.

Just cracked 74 and still shooting

Larry Price October 31st, 2006 03:44 AM

I recently observed (haven't had time to celebrate yet!) the "8th Anniversary" of my 39th birthday. (That's a roundabout way of admitting to being 47 without actually having to say so...)

Aloha,

Larry

Jeremy Speakes December 15th, 2006 02:32 PM

I'm twenty-six.

Peter Malcolm December 20th, 2006 10:49 PM

To contribute to all of our combined wisdom:

17.

Michael Y Wong January 17th, 2007 12:33 PM

Holding onto the my 20s @ 29 years young.

John Miller January 17th, 2007 12:36 PM

40.

(Seems that like life, this message is too short without this sentence!)

L. Kirk Kauder January 17th, 2007 12:53 PM

It's nice to see that at 53 I'm not the oldest. :-)

Kevin Myhre January 17th, 2007 04:21 PM

27 for me. Still have a lot to learn

Orri Jonsson January 17th, 2007 06:00 PM

18, n00b, here, lots of potential. Start young, you'll be good at anything, or so is the word on the streets. I got the "magic eye" according to my father. haha, he's a noob too.

Brent Johnson February 6th, 2007 12:19 AM

48 and unafraid *grin*

John Westbury February 6th, 2007 10:40 PM

40, but still feel like 18 (but less regularly than I'd like).

Michael Pulcinella February 7th, 2007 08:18 AM

I'm 45 but feel like I'm 85!

Federico Lang February 7th, 2007 09:23 AM

Been 4 years doing this, I'm currently 20 and in Film School

Don Jones February 9th, 2007 11:49 AM

That's because the next stage for those of us in our sixties means that it's too dark for a camera to be used.

Don Jones February 9th, 2007 11:52 AM

Some one stated that the age of the members of the forum drops off quickly after the sixties. My reply to that is above.

Brent Johnson February 9th, 2007 07:06 PM

I have heard it said, "An old person is a young person on the inside trying to figure out what happend."

Ken Nelson March 18th, 2007 07:05 PM

55 this year

Younger in spirit. Prehistoric in photography. God I love my HD-DV. I don't miss my Bolex H16 Turret.

Milt Lee March 18th, 2007 08:32 PM

Well, this year I turned 59 - been making docs since 1974, and it's more fun all the time!!

Love the new world of DV - soon to be HDV.

Brian Orser March 18th, 2007 09:29 PM

I'm 17 and I can only hope the age/skill continuum is exponential. ;)

Bruce M. Foster March 19th, 2007 04:30 PM

53 myself

"I think membership here really runs the gamut--we have plenty of teenagers and folks in their 50s and early 60s--but the numbers fall off sharply at 70s and 80s." Well, trust me, membership in anything starts to fall off in the seventies and eighties.

There was for a while a certain popular maxim about age: Age is just a number. I thought that was the funniest thing, as it posits the absolute denial of the value and effect of both experience and learning, and takes no responsiblity for either. No wonder it was a popular maxim. Probably still is popular.

I just started asking people when was the last time they said that to a five year-old child. Silence is usually the response. That or laughter.

Age is of course not the issue. Experience is. What have you done with your time?

Brendan Marnell March 19th, 2007 04:51 PM

Like the old soldier saying to the young soldier "'This your first time on a battlefield? Just a kid, you got so much to learn!" "Guess so" says the rookie. "Dunno how you're gonna catch up, kid. Me I got 20 years experience under my belt. Howya gonna stay alive long enough to catch up?"

One thoughtful answer is that the old-timer is more likely to have one year's battlefield experience repeated 19 times.

Justin Avery March 20th, 2007 03:27 AM

27 in April

Nathaniel Hansen March 21st, 2007 09:02 PM

29

30 is the new 20.

Phil Anderson March 22nd, 2007 01:11 AM

About forty three. Ahem.

But I agree with those who feel 15. Boy, a big part of me will forever be 15. Going to amusement parks, flirting with girls, riding my bicycle everywhere, doing tiny things that get me in trouble with superiors. Life is good.

I'm about 5 years ahead of you Phil, and I agree 110% with everything you said! They say 50 is the new 30.

Yi Fong Yu March 22nd, 2007 11:12 PM

Paul E Lannaghan April 24th, 2007 10:10 PM

Age?

I am 49 but as far as how old i feel? I don't feel any age crazy as that might seem. Maybe its because i have better things to think about than my age? who knows?

enjoy life no matter what age you are and it will most probably be of no importance, maybe. Anyway have a nice day and a nice life okay )))

Tyson Perkins April 25th, 2007 02:55 AM

18 (still very much a kid)

R Geoff Baker April 25th, 2007 06:32 AM

47 in Canadian years, which works out to barely 40 in US years.

Douglas Toltzman April 25th, 2007 06:38 AM

I started at zero and progressed to 42 in a linear fashion, so my average age is 21.

Marlon Torres April 25th, 2007 08:49 AM

24. Wow, I'm pretty young.

Bill Busby April 27th, 2007 08:38 PM

I've officially reached FITTY since the 23rd. I've lost my keys, glasses & my mind :-\
