Don't feel any different than I did when I was 15 really. Well, maybe a bit wiser. |

|
Hey,
I'm 28...and wishing i got into this stuff when i was 17... I'm still young enough to swim out at my local surf spot and take a beating with my camera so it's all good! |
For me the southern dawn has broken 21,170 times and I hope for another 10,000 or more ...

Hmmm (he said taking a puff of his pipe)
Nice to see all of you young film makers. I have three grown children, six growing grandchildren. I started to make movies when I was 15. Lets see, that wouldl be 55 years ago! Turned 70 just this month (June, 07) Last week I taught at a film workshop for children. This week I am finishing a film for a large church. I am a retired music teacher and a professional trumpet player, and yes, I still practice every day. So staying busy in my sort of old age.

Just 20..
But already studying film from the age of 15, and planning to keep doing it for many years to come.. |
I am as old as my tongue but older than my teeth and don't have many of them. 58
|
Young, dumb at 22 :D
|
Older than a cabbage, younger than a mountain @ 56.
Took a 960 hr. course in "Television Studio Operations" in 1984. Then shot VHS with JVC tube cameras onto 20 min. U-matic portable! VCR, while in training division for a few years. Haven't touched a video camera until I retired and bought my new Canon XH-A1 in July 2007. Only 85 switches (I counted them). Now on learning curve. DV-i has lots of great info! I plan to produce training DVD's and assist others who need another cameraman for multi-camera gig's.

18... I think I was 17 when I joined :P
Glad I found this site too... I wish more people registered and responded though, I see 20-30 people viewing a forum and never see a new post for 3-4 days... I'm used to the 16th biggest forum in the world where 1000 people are posting at 3am... |
I turn 29 this Friday (9/7/07). w00t-w00t!
|
I'm 71 and I made my first film in 1948 at age 12 and my first one for money in 1958. I've never been employed; always a freelancer since then to this day.
|

Running up stream
I am 32 but told I look 32....
Actually, I just lost 120 lbs so people say I look mid 20's. P.S. If any finds that 120 lbs, leave it alone! It has been known to eat small animals. |

|
Few months shy of 59.
Rog Lee :) |
Today I was watching a Guns and Roses video, it was released in 1987. Now that hurts. :}
|
Guns and Roses? Ha!
I drove to Quebec bypassing the crowds heading to Woodstock - the original Woodstock. Now THAT hurts!

Still teaching, and still shooting. At the moment I'm in transition in many different ways - SD to HD, tape to speed drives, and reducing the size of crews. But the biggest transition is trying to conjure what my act III is going to be. Writing? Getting a grant for my opus? Slacking? Seeing my son through college? (He's a sophomore now.) I like teaching but that's will never be my full-time gig - I would be cheating if I was passing on information about a set of skills I was no longer using. As a pass time I've been keeping a picture blog - http://ozcocoon.blogspot.com/ - I contribute to it when the mood comes around.
Regarding Woodstock, I never regretted not going; I hate crowds. That weekend I went camping in Canada. |
Great blog, Ozzie—I really enjoyed reading through it and looking at the interesting photos.
Transition…I’m nearing a couple of those myself. May yours be pleasant, and may Act III include dreams come true. In an effort to get this thread back on topic I’ll give my annual confession: 48, and feeling as if something is nipping at my heels… |
