Older than dirt
Dirt will be 59 in 14 days

I already have bionic eyes.
After I get my new knees I can use my Marzpak again.
For the time being I'm stuck on a tripod.
My hearing and sense of humour still there (well most of the time)
Gotta love socialized medicine

Daniel Broadway March 27th, 2004 02:43 PM

Frank Granovski March 27th, 2004 03:20 PM

Jeff Donald March 27th, 2004 07:26 PM

Frank, this downhill stuff you refer to (remember I'm in Florida) does that mean you are taking up snow boarding or skiing or something?

Thomas Gay April 5th, 2004 05:36 PM

Heading toward 37 but still think I'm 16 :)

Charlie Boles April 7th, 2004 09:24 AM

I turn 34 this summer... guess I better figure out what I want to do with my life?

Milt Lee April 7th, 2004 09:34 AM

Why Hurry?

Since I'm fast approaching 60, I say why hurry? I'm just now getting into DV production, so what's the rush?

Soon to be 21 on the 14th, if theres anyone who is in the the jersey area and is trying to help out with a project or needs any extra hands post it! We should be working on stuff together if we can.

Statistical Update

34.44 Average
34 Median
13.29 Standard Deviation

Not much change from the last stats in March. Some old guys offset many very young folks.

But we have only 123 respondents thus far.

Dale Anthony Smith May 5th, 2004 05:52 AM

I have to say I was surprised to learn of the demographics of a large contingent of "DV People".
I was born in 1950, participated in the Student anti-war movement (Viet Nam), was a Rock & Roll Guitarist and toured the country and am currently a media producer. I always tell my neices and nephews and now my 6yr old daughter's friends that they are my people and not to count me in with the "grown ups". I think age is a wealth of experience and knowledge about yourself and the world. It is NOT, as some would think, a ticket to lamesville. I think that the people who are in this forum are bound by their enthusiasm about a craft and mostly a tool for communicating... which is what us Humans do best.

Absolutely... age is only a number... it's all about attitude whatever the number is. Happiness is a capacity not a contingency.
I still wouldn't trade my times or my era for the years it could gain me back. We had the best music ever made also. Check out my favorite web station... The Technicolor Web of Sound at techwebsound.com.
Most people I meet place me in the mid thirties. Exercise helps but mostly its outlook.
I think that it's more of a manifestation of your zeal or what we call in New Orleans "joi de vivre" or joy of life.
ROCK ON!

Bankim Jain May 14th, 2004 11:39 AM

If its all but number ... 29/M...02.Feb.75 !

Rob Scott May 21st, 2004 01:25 PM

Oh man

Room full of kids for the most part.

You lucky shmucks. By the way, there's a toll for being under 30. See all the young guys are expected to pay for 30 and older's editing systems. I'll take a Mac thank you.

Sean Smith June 2nd, 2004 11:53 AM

32 and very recently married... less than a month ago.

Christian Hede Madsen June 14th, 2004 07:42 AM

Congratulation with marriage...

17 years old and a hell of a lot to give( and learn)

Hey wait! The kids are buying us editing systems? Cool - I need an external hard drive (120GIG) and a FCP upgrade. When you get the chance. THANKS!!!!

Alexander McLeod June 25th, 2004 08:55 PM

Good grief, this thread has been going on so long that I've become another year older (which will tweak the stats somewhat). Turned 70 on June 20, 2004. See ya' next year, same time, same thread.

Robin Davies-Rollinson June 30th, 2004 01:50 AM

Soixante-et-un (61, but it sounds better in French) and still working hard - well, it's more like playing really. What other job would give you a whole studio and the toys to play with and pay you for it???

Robin

Owen Dawe July 17th, 2004 06:04 PM

63. It seems it's taken my entire life to work my way to the end of this thread.
