Chasing Amy....

I actually read this screenplay about three times before seeing the movie... I love that conflict about tracing...

Nick Vaughan September 8th, 2005 12:09 PM

Got it. Your turn.

Barry, we are waiting on you!

Barry Gribble September 9th, 2005 05:40 PM

Sorry all, was traveling....

"I was one of the original Chinese workman who laid the tracks on this stretch."

Have at it.

Barry Gribble September 10th, 2005 07:23 AM

12+ hours and no stabs... Need a hint?

The actor playing the character being spoken to is more famous as a singer than as an actor.

Manchurian Candidate?

Barry Gribble September 10th, 2005 10:39 AM

All you Nick... I knew that hint would push someone over the edge.

That quote always stuck out to me. It is delivered by Janet Leigh (Rosie) when they meet on the train. The thing is, that line, along with her correcting his response to something, strongly suggests that she is a Chinese agent - and maybe not even a woman. But in the whole rest of the movie that doesn't really go anywhere. Or maybe that is just in Marco's twisted imagination? Maybe it was just subtle.

Definitely one of my old-time favorites.

Nick Vaughan September 11th, 2005 11:27 AM

OK! Here we go.

"You sure? You're the only man I know who could mix Elvis Costello and Public Enemy!

[singing]

What's so funny about... peace, peace, peace... love and under... peace, peace. / Death Row, what does a brother know? peace, peace. / Yow, wow, wow, wow, wow, kapow! You're the King, man, you are the King!"

One of the best lines ever.

Douglas Akers September 11th, 2005 05:28 PM

Singles.
Jeremy Piven at the store when Campbell Scott is buying a pregnancy test for Kyra Sedgwick.
Great Seattle grung music throughout that film.
Personaly, it's my favorite Cameron Crowe flick!

Nick Vaughan September 12th, 2005 09:02 AM

Bravo. Your turn.

Douglas Akers September 12th, 2005 11:13 AM

I've been thinking about joining the game for a while now.
I hope I can keep up!
OK, here we go.

"I apologize for not being entirely honest with you."
"I apologize for not revealing my true feelings."
"I apologize sir for not telling you sooner that you are a degenerate, sadistic old man and you can GO TO HELL BEFORE I APOLOGIZE TO YOU NOW OR EVER AGAIN!"

Maybe too easy.

Cliff Hepburn September 12th, 2005 11:58 AM

Paths of Glory

Douglas Akers September 12th, 2005 12:01 PM

That's fast Cliff, your turn.

Cliff Hepburn September 12th, 2005 12:03 PM

Woohoo, This one might be easy.

"Why you askin' so many jackassy questions?"

Cliff Hepburn September 13th, 2005 07:39 AM

hmmmm, Not as easy as I thought it would be.
Just to move along, the actor played a character named Captain Spalding.

Robert Mann Z. September 13th, 2005 10:35 AM

Captain Spalding would be a rob zombie character...i saw House of 1000 Corpses and don't remember that line...so will take a guess and say The Devil's Rejects, which i did not see yet...

Nick Vaughan September 13th, 2005 12:46 PM

Actually, I'm pretty sure that line IS from House of 1,000 Corpses...when the guys are asking about all that stupid stuff in the beginning at the weird museum thing. Right?

Cliff Hepburn September 13th, 2005 02:52 PM

Robert, so close, but Nick is right. It was right after the murder ride. Take it away Nick.

Nick Vaughan September 14th, 2005 10:16 PM

Sorry for the delay!

"Aren't you gonna take your skates off?"

"I never take my skates off."

I think that one's pretty easy.

Zach Mull September 15th, 2005 01:07 AM

Sounds like Rollergirl in Boogie Nights to me.

Christopher C. Murphy September 15th, 2005 02:28 AM

It's definately Roller Girl in Boogie Nights!

Hah. Got it. Your turn.

Zach Mull September 15th, 2005 12:15 PM

This is very mainstream, but if it's not long enough then I can add another quote from the same scene:

"Is that how you used to run the good cop/bad cop?"

Keith Loh September 15th, 2005 12:25 PM

"LA Confidential"

Zach Mull September 15th, 2005 12:27 PM

10 minutes - I like your style Keith. You're up.

Keith Loh September 15th, 2005 12:41 PM

It was easy. One of my favourite movies.

"There are few things more fundamentally stimulating that watching another man die."

I think it is Full Metal Jacket, but I know it isn't, so I'm guessing Dr. Strangelove.

Keith Loh September 15th, 2005 10:49 PM

Neither. But it is a war movie. Someone else?

Rick Bravo September 16th, 2005 08:32 AM

Paths of Glory.

RB

Keith Loh September 16th, 2005 01:00 PM

Sorry, been away from my computer for a day!

Here's mine...and I think it's pretty easy!

"I am putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all I think that any conscious entity can ever hope to do."

RB

Christopher C. Murphy September 17th, 2005 03:32 PM

2001 Space Odessey!

Rick Bravo September 19th, 2005 07:47 AM

Yeah baby!!!

RB

Christopher C. Murphy September 19th, 2005 08:01 AM

Ok........here goes:

"Her pretty head."

Keith Loh September 19th, 2005 08:50 AM

Sounds like "Se7en."

Christopher C. Murphy September 19th, 2005 12:34 PM

very good!

your turn...

Keith Loh September 19th, 2005 12:48 PM

"You think you've merely stopped a business deal? That is not the case. The Arabs have taken billions of dollars out of this country, and now they must put it back. It is ebb and flow, tidal gravity. It is ecological balance. You are an old man who thinks in terms of nations and peoples. There are no nations; there are no peoples. There are no Russians. There are no Arabs. There are no third worlds. There is no West. There is only one holistic system of systems; one vast, interwoven, interacting, multivaried, multinational dominion of dollars."

The answer, my friends, is 'Network.'

Keith Loh September 20th, 2005 04:49 PM
