I've got one Cary. It's just gathering dust, and I'd love to sell it.

Prices differ from internet sales to local sales and from region to region. If I sold my XL1 camera here in Vancouver, I'd expect $2500us for it. If it was Ebay, it'd probably be less. Go on Ebay and check what they sell for for a reasonable estimate.

If you ask $1500 for it, it'll be gone in 30 mins. That would be a very good price for a buyer.

Marco Leavitt October 1st, 2003 02:57 PM

Rats. Oh well. Snooze, you lose.

Cary Weston October 1st, 2003 04:10 PM

Thank You

Man,

Not only do i get some great info but when I was in need of a lens, my post initiated 5 emails the same day!

Thanks everyone for all the help.

Thanks,

Jaime Valles October 1st, 2003 08:57 PM

James,

I don't have a picture of it right now (haven't jumped on the digital still revolution yet), but I'll try to get one in the next couple of days. As soon as I have pics, I'll email them to you.

Steve Nunez October 2nd, 2003 04:09 PM

Check your email Roze.

Bernard Diaz October 3rd, 2003 04:51 PM

Hey Cary.
I have two of them. Let me know if you still need it.
Make an offer.
apd191@yahoo.com.

Bernard Diaz October 3rd, 2003 05:13 PM

Oh, I forgot to mention, they are both new.

Adrian Douglas October 3rd, 2003 08:42 PM

John,

If you look around the second hand camera shops you could pick up a 70-200/2.8 at a reasonable price. A couple of years ago Canon introduced an IS version of this lens and the non-IS versions can be found second-hand if you look about.

Matt Betea October 3rd, 2003 08:51 PM

John, a good place online to check out used equipment is keh.com. I'm looking at purchasing some stuff from there and have heard their prices are good and their rating system is modest.

Jeff Donald October 4th, 2003 02:17 AM

KEH is pretty high on most used items. They have many used items only $10 or $20 dollars less than new at B & H.

Cary Weston October 4th, 2003 06:02 AM

thank you...I was fortunate enough to have a few available from fellow posters and now have one on the way.

Got it. Thanks!

For Sale: DSR PDX10

This camera was bought new from B&HPHOTO at the beginning of August '03 and used for one indoor shoot, with less than 10 hours of use. I am selling it to help pay for another camera. It is in perfect condition, with no mechanical issues or cosmetic wear whatsoever.
Included are all in-box accessories (sorry, no original box), as well as the

PORTABRACE DV3CR2 case, made for the PDX10, and a
POWER-2000 NP-QM91 4-5 hour lithium battery.

I am sorry to see this cam go (for now), but priorities insist.

I'm asking $1850 for the kit.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me at

shawnmielke@yahoo.com

Shawn Mielke October 6th, 2003 01:32 PM

The cam sells separately for $1700, by the way.

Kris Kalapala October 6th, 2003 04:01 PM

Adobe Digital Video Collection

I have Adobe Digital Video Collection (Photoshop 7, Premiere 6.5, After Effects 5.5 and Illustrator 10) Educational version that I have for sale ($200 plus shipping). It does not pay to upgrade it to the new versions, it is easier to buy new versions at my discount. These are full functional versions that just carry Educational labeling. If interested send me an e-mail.

Neil Slade October 7th, 2003 12:16 PM

Dvx100

Okay, our project ended early, DVX100 available, like new, 4 batteries, DVX case, 4 year pro warranty, other extras as well.

I haven't settled on my asking price yet and still not 100% sure I want to part with this fine camera. But it's possible.

Good god, this is the best camera in the world, but I am seriously considering dropping film/video production as I am doing an awful lot these days.

Send me an email anyway in case I decide to and you want one.

Cheerfully
Neil

Aaron Koolen October 7th, 2003 01:19 PM

Neil, I take it it's not a PAL version?

Cheers
Aaron

Kevin Lee October 8th, 2003 05:12 AM

Trv900

How much does a 2ndhand Sony DCR TRV900 go for these days?

I have one NTSC model in excellent condition that i might want to let go off.

Denis Murphy October 8th, 2003 01:01 PM

Ed version

Of course educational versions may not be used for profit....

Keith Luken October 8th, 2003 01:32 PM

True! There are license restrictions, such as no profit and for educational use. But this is a great bundle for someone learning or doing donated work and such. I never woudl have gotten into The Adobe products if it were not for the great educational discounts.

Blake Woods October 8th, 2003 02:55 PM

me

Sell it to me for 500

Dylan Couper October 8th, 2003 05:20 PM

Sent you an email Neil.

Denis Murphy October 8th, 2003 05:38 PM

Education

Well you did say "just carry educational labelling.'

It's the license that counts.

Keith Luken October 8th, 2003 05:55 PM

True, and while I don't encourgae it, most people don't read or follow their licenses, but they should.

Frank Granovski October 8th, 2003 06:37 PM

A fair price would be about $1400 US, maybe a tad more if it's in minty/working shape, and everything is included which came with the cam. That would be my guess, anyway.

Kevin Maistros October 8th, 2003 09:23 PM

I sent an email if it's still available I'd like to move on this via paypal within a day or two.

Kevin Maistros October 8th, 2003 11:34 PM

Is this still available? Please contact me.

Kevin Maistros October 8th, 2003 11:37 PM

Is this offer still available? I am interested, and will be looking to purchase within a few days. Can the price go any lower? Please contact me.

Kevin Lee October 9th, 2003 12:22 AM

Thanks Frank
(have visited your sites before - good stuff. esp the links page you have somewhere)

It is in excellent condition. Have had it for a while but have hardly touched it as it's an NTSC model. I'm in PAL land and have pd150.

I have these extras as well
1. Vitacon semi-fish eye .45x
2. Kenko 05 PRO 0.5X Wide Angle
3. Sony Condenser microphone ECM-HS1

Anyone interested?

Frank Granovski October 9th, 2003 01:22 AM

There's always someone looking for a TRV900 - great cam. Perhaps also post this at dv.com's camera forum. If you don't get bites, consider becoming a ebay reseller. I'm sure you'll get lots bidders. (I'm always buying off ebay, this and that.) On another note, this one "film-maker" here in Vancouver shot like a 2 hour plus doc with her PD100 (TRV900 pro version), and had her doc transferred to film. The doc is called, "the fix, the story of an addicted city." (Vancouver) :(

Dylan Couper October 9th, 2003 07:51 AM

Nope, it's mounted on my camera as we speak... ;)
