Ntsc Vx2000

Hi,

I am about to buy a new camera but before I want to sell a NTSC VX2000 camera I bought in Japan.

The camera is fully operational and it includes a Wide Lens adapter and long life batteries.

I would like to get 1200$.

What do you think?

Dick Steele August 26th, 2003 11:08 AM

FS: XL1S w/ 16x Manual and Pelican 1620.

I have a well cared for XL1s. It has the 16x Manual lens. I have all the original boxes and will provide a 1620 pelican case. I purchased the cam in pieces (body kit, lens) from a local broadcast equipment facility. It has been a truly super cam, never a drop-out, never eaten a tape, always beautiful quality. I do not use the cam as a deck, so the hours on the heads are record time only; very little FF/REW. You may have noticed that I had posted for a trade, yet I have had no offers so the cam is for sale. Looking for around 3200.00 negotiable.

As of now I am not intersted in selling the lens by itself. If someone wishes to purchase the body then the lens can be sold.

Also, I have a Peter Lisand tripod (JR-A-74) w/ a O'connor 50D head will sale reasonable. Recently serviced by O'connor w/ new cam plate. Provides beautiful cinema movement; an often overlooked part of the "Filmlook".

Cheers,

Dick Steele

JVC portable 5 inch field monitor

This is a JVC model TM-22U portable field monitor. It powers off of AC/DC and the cords, charger and one battery are included. The battery holds about a 75% charge. The monitor includes a blue Porta Brace cover and removable hood. The hood really helps in bright light. I've also used this in my studio when I need a extra monitor. The TM-22U go on ebay for $250 without a case. This unit is in excellent condition, no scratches and the screen is perfect. I'm asking $150 plus shipping and insurance. I accept PayPal, Money Orders and Cashiers Checks.

Custom XL1 telephoto lens bracket

This is a custom designed and machined bracket for supporting Canon EF lenses on the XL1. This bracket was made to my specifications and was machined and milled for use on the XL1. Black annodized aluminum. Anyone using EF lenses on the XL1 with EF XL adapter should be supporting the EF lens with an adapter similar to this. I'm asking $100 plus shipping and insurance. I accept PayPal, Money Orders and Cashiers Checks.

I did a series of photos for some members a while back. They are still on my iDisk and you can download them here Some PC users occasionally have problems with Mac iDisks, if that's the case let me know and I'll email a couple.

Is the 5" monitor suitable for checking color, focus, white balance, etc.?

I've heard some folks say that the 5" is too small. If not, I might be interested.

Please email when you get a spare moment.

Thanks,

JH

Matt Pope August 29th, 2003 06:07 AM

James,
It's going to come down to personal preference really, but that's exactly what I've used it for myself. I've found that the XL1's viewfinder doesn't tend to offer a very precise color representation, and obviously unless you've got the B&W it's almost impossible to get a precise focus except on close-ups. This monitor is one of the "high-res" models, with 450 lines of resolution. I can't think of a time right now when I haven't been able to set my focus confidently because of its size. It's really very crisp.

As far as the size, I can't say I wouldn't mind having a 13" monitor with me on set, but when you weigh the hassle of lugging around something that big every time you go out to shoot something, it becomes (at least for me) somewhat unpractical. (Maybe if I had a crew larger than just myself!) People definitely do it, however, and I guess that works for them - that's why I say ultimately it's a personal preference... They call the 5" models "field monitors" for a reason though!

Hope that helps!

Jay H Thompson August 29th, 2003 01:42 PM

Matt,

I sent you an e-mail with some contact information. Call me or send me a note with your call info.

Thanks

Jay

Jay H Thompson August 29th, 2003 02:07 PM

Doh!

Sorry I missed Mr. Hall's note. I'd be interested in the Sony Field monitor if James does not want it. Sorry about that James..

Jeff Donald August 29th, 2003 07:10 PM

mini 35 for sale

I have a p&s technik mini 35 for sale. I would also consider selling the Canon XL1s that I have used with it. I am actually located at the moment in Southern Spain, but the equipment could be viewed in the UK. It is in "as new" condition, not used much and well cared for. My reason for selling is that I need a set-up that is lighter and smaller. Serious enquiries only to mike@mbluestone.com, and then we could talk by phone.

I have a JVC BR-DV600U I am looking to get rid of if you are interested. It just needs a good head cleaning, other than that it is in perfect condition. 16 months old and I sent it into JVC for a 1 year service before the warranty ran out. The deck has not had much editing time on it at all, I just think JVC played another brand of tape on it when they had it for service (the reason for the dirty heads, I always use sony tapes). but if you are interested, let me know.

Chris

(i just dont own a good head cleaner and I dont want to run one of those dry-tape cleaners through this deck several times as they say they can wear the heads down)

G. Lee Gordon September 1st, 2003 03:35 PM

How much do you want for it?

Chris Ferrer September 1st, 2003 04:39 PM

I got it through one of the site's sponsors, Zotz Digital for just under $2000 about a year and a half ago. Since it needs a good head cleaning, I will part with it for $850. The price of a new sr-vs30u.

I just went back and counted and I dont have any more than 7 weddings edited on it and most that use was this year.

Chris

Rick Forge September 1st, 2003 08:57 PM

Chris- I'm not familiar with that model- could you give me a few comparative details? Thanks

Rick

Chris Ferrer September 1st, 2003 09:12 PM

Rick, its on the high end of miniDV spectrum. it has many bells and whistles including composite/YC/component inputs/outputs. The details can be found on JVC website:

http://pro.jvc.com/prof/Attributes/tech_desc.jsp?model_id=MDL100040&feature_id=02

It does a lot.

Max Mishler September 4th, 2003 07:26 AM

I would like to update my previous post to add that I also welcome offers that are reasonable. Please don't send me e-mails such as one I recently got with an offer of 500.00 as that is just a waste of time and e-mail space. I realize I may have to come off of my original price a bit but let's stay within reason...

Mike Bluestone September 4th, 2003 09:00 AM

I am asking for offers in the region of £4000 GBP for the mini 35, including both Nikon & Arri PL mounts and of course the relay lens for Canon XL

Dylan Couper September 4th, 2003 08:02 PM

Need Camera

I have been wanting a sony vx2000 or a canon gl2 for the longest time and i am suppose to get a gl2 from a friend for 500 but he is taking forever to do it. and i looked for auction, pawn shops, ebay a guy had a friend who worked at a warehouse and could get em but didnt happen and i was wondering if any one knows where i can get a vx2000 or gl2 or gl1 for about 500 and i dont mind if its used.

Dylan Couper September 4th, 2003 11:15 PM

Won't happen. Not for another 2 or 3 years anyway. You M I G H T get a GL1 with high mileage for $1000.

Your friend won't sell it to you for $500 because that is insane. It's easily worth $1500-$1700.
If you find any of these cameras for that price, then they are broken, or stolen.
You have to take a reality check with your budget here. If I had $500 to spend, I'd look for a used Canon Optura Pi. That might be the best in that price range.

G. Lee Gordon September 5th, 2003 01:27 AM

Sony TRV Series (TRV27, 19, 18, etc.)

Looking for a lower end Sony camera in the TRV series. Preferably the TRV27 & up.

Frank Granovski September 5th, 2003 03:02 AM

You could try B&H, videodirect and cameraworld to see if they have any used ones/returns (open box specials). Buydig is another dealer which usually has deals on older cams. With these places, at least you'll get a warranty.

Blake Woods September 5th, 2003 11:21 AM

no my friend defientely will he got a xl1s and his parents paid for it so he dont care so im getting it for 500 im getting a good deal

Dylan Couper September 5th, 2003 11:30 AM

Well, that's a once in a lifetime deal.
Wish I had more friends like that.

G. Lee Gordon September 5th, 2003 11:42 AM

Thanks, I never even thought about that.

Chris Hurd September 5th, 2003 03:14 PM

Your best bet is to go ahead and hold out for his deal, because you definitely won't find a price like that on a legitimate basis.
