3CCD for sale you might like
Hi Ken,
I am about to move up to an XL1s or GL2. I have an older Sony VX3 3CCD (pred to VX1000) with many extras I would like to sell. Please email me at lagniappedeaux@yahoo.com for photos and details if interested. I'm in your price range. The VX3 is certainly not up there with the newer cameras but it's a great way to go "in the meantime" with a good clean image. This cams were used during the first Gulf War and had a great track record. Mine was serviced by Sony and brought back "into spec" before I shelved it. Have kept as a backup but no longer using. Anyway...this may help. Let me know. |
Canon GL2
Hey All -
I love my GL2 and have thought about getting an XL1-S. If I ***were*** to offer to sell my GL2, what would it get with the following accessories? - GL2, low hours - 10 or less - MA-300 XLR Mic Adaptor - WD-58h Wide Angle Lense - The mini Canon Light Vi10? - 1 Sony shotgun Mic w/ phantom pwr. - 1 Azden shotgun mic w/ self supplied pwr. - Still under warrenty - bought in Dec 02. - 1 home built camera stabelizer - like the Glidecam 2000 pro, but done in a machine shop, with gimbal. Works great. Any info on this would be great. - AR |
You're the seller why don't you start off with like (for educational purposes only) $2500 obo? I would like pictures of the glide cam and the plans if you don't mind.
|
Not a problem. I am still not sure if I want to sell. I am more curious if there is a resonable market for it, if it depreciated a lot or of they hold their value.
As for the camera stabelizer... I do not have the plans anymore but would be happy to provide pics. On that note, if I do decide to sell, I would provide numerous pics of every item I listed. Thanks again. |
There is another 3CCD Sony camera, the EVW-300 which is the predecessor to the DSR-300. Same size, lens, etc. Great pictures but not like DV pictures. I just sold a 220 head hour, vitrually flawless EVW-300 body to a friend for $750.
|
AAron- If you do sell you might want to separate out the accessories. I say that because I'd love to take that shotgun mic and MA 300 adaptor of your hands! Let me know if you do sell.

$600 Firestore FS-1 (mint)
Hello everyone,
I have a barely used mint Videonics/Focus Enhancements Firestore FS-1 for sale. It inlcudes everything as purchased when new and even includes the optional field battery pack which allows it be used outside for totally tapeless dv capture. Chris Hurd wrote an excellent article on this device and it's somewhere on this forum. This is actually a newer version than the one he reviewed as this has the new Firmware applied by the factory and has more output formats and works excellently with Mac and PC NLE's. $600 takes it. (sells for $999) e-mail stevenyc1@aol.com for details or questions. Thanks for taking a look. Photo here-> http://stevenunez.com/hostedimages/firestore1.jpg |
Chris' article on the Firestore is here.
|
Ken you're awesome- thanks.

Looks like it's NTSC only though. A shame, since I could go for a PAL miniDV deck. |
Actual monitor from "Office Space"...!
OK, this seems really silly to me, but maybe not.
I have an Apple ColorSync monitor (19", I think??) that was used as a working prop on the set of the movie "Office Space". After the show wrapped, I bought it off the prop department for a good price (standard procedure), and have used it for the last 5 years. It just started crapping out on me, the picture intermittently shrinking and spazzing out, although sometimes it is fine. I assume it's a loose board or dirt in something somewhere. It just seemed like time to move on and get a new monitor, and I was trying to figure out how to dispose of the thing, when a friend told me "jeez, that was on Office Space? Do you know how many fans of that movie would probably jump all over it, regardless of condition??" Well, OK, how many? I'll probably put it up on eBay at some point, but in case there's anyone here who wants it, I'll entertain offers! I think with some servicing it should be OK, I just don't really want to deal with it, but the tube is fine when it isn't spazzing. And yes, it was in the movie. We used it for shooting close-ups of the screen for the computer procedures like Peter trying to shut down the computer before Lumbergh finds him, or when he is inserting the virus into the system. We shot "inside the bevel", i.e. just the screen itself, so it's not like you would recognize the monitor in the movie. Again, I feel sort of sheepish, but this just might be a fun item for someone out there, I know the movie has attracted a big cult following! |
Wanted: Sony PD 150
Hello everyone. I'm looking to add a Pd 150 to my arsenal so if any of you are looking to sell or know someone who is then please let me know. Thanks.
|
I also have some movie nostalgia, but couldn't part with mine. I have one of the Roman swords from "Ben Hur". When I bought it, I was under the impression that it was Ben Hur's sword, but I watched the movie and he never used one. Still, it's a piece of cinematic history.
If I were you, I would set that Monitor on a desk with a old PC, and place a sign on it stating it's history. A film grab would be nice to add to the display. |
Dude. I'll take it...how much? That movie rocks...
|
Name your prices, gang...like I said, it's a weird world and after what I read in this week's Entertainment Weekly about the cult of "Office Space", anything seems possible!!
|
I need proof that it is the office space monitor. :D
|
Tell you what, Alex: I'll include a picture of me posing with the monitor, then also include pictures of me on set with Jennifer Aniston, Steven Root ("Milton"), and the three young programmer guys, the rest would have to be a character judgement!
|
Whoa, are you serious?
|
Alex,
Charles was the Steadicam operator on "Office Space." You can check out all the movies Charles has worked on by viewing his IMDB profile here. See, I told you this was a high-class discussion forum. Hope this helps! Charles, If you don't get any serious bites here, you might offer it over on one of the Office Space fan sites like this one. |
Wow Charles, theres a lot of things in that list that I watch every episode of... Your the steadicam operator on Scrubs, The west wing, and ER? Whew, I like all 3 of them shows, especially scrubs, the intro on that show is pretty crazy, everytime I watch it, i'm like "what the crap, how'd they pull that off so smoothly?" heh :D
Anyway, about the monitor, my pockets aren't very deep right now, and i'm sure theres lots of other people who would pay lots of cash for that puppy. |
Charles, how you got any other chachkah's you are willing to let go of?
Zac |
Jeez Charles... Maybe if you tried a little harder, you could have brought home the monitor AND Jennifer Anniston? :)~
|
Charles,
I got a question, did you the steadicam shot in the opening when Lumbergh first arrives in his porsche and the plates say "my prsch", because as far as i can see those plates must have really existed out there? DId you meet the guy who actually owned those plates and had a snicker to yourself about them? Zac |
someone make me an offer. must sell,
if you pay 1200 ill pay the shipping anywhere in the US |
I'm pretty sure the art department made up those plates. Many of the shows I have worked on that are shot in LA but supposed to be somewhere else use replica plates that are made of plastic.
Keith, Jennifer had just started dating Brad Pitt and spent all of her spare time on the cel phone with him, sadly, this was just months after she had said in an interview "I'm tired of dating actors, I just want to date a regular guy"...! Zac, I've realized I do have some other "Office Space" things that I should probably put up on eBay...the wrap party invite was in the form of one of the "Initech" nametags, with Milton's picture on it, plus I think I have an Initech baseball cap around somewhere. |
Hey Chas, I'll give you a good price on that Initech ball cap by private email.
And if there's any way to get John C. McGinley and/or Ron Livingston to autograph that monitor, then it would definitely have my competitive interest! I'm sure they're both good poker buddies of yours... |
Now if you had some photos from the American History X shoot....
