Need a lens cap

I have misplaced a lens cap for my auto lens on my Canon Xl1s. If anyone has one they'd like to sell, please contact me via email brad@fusionarena.com.

Thanks!

Ken Tanaka July 13th, 2003 01:14 AM

Brad,
You can buy a 72mm Canon replacement lens cap for about $8.

Adrian Douglas July 13th, 2003 03:47 AM

Anyone know where I can get lens and end caps for a Canon J15x9.5B4 KRS II 1/2" lens. I was given this lens in an NTT clean-out but it's missing it caps. I tried Canon Japan but they said they don't stock them anymore as it's an old lens.

Jeff Donald July 13th, 2003 05:18 AM

If you're looking for a front cap it should be standard size and available from larger photo retailers. But it won't say Canon. The rear cap will be a standard mount size, 2/3, 1/2 etc. mount. Any of the larger broadcast dealers will stock the cap. A retailer like B & H in New York would carry both.

Adrian Douglas July 13th, 2003 06:48 AM

Thanks Jeff, if it's just standard gear then I'll have to try one of the pro-video shops in Tokyo.

Kevin Maistros July 13th, 2003 01:47 PM

Would you be willing to sell me the 14x manual lense separate from the package? How low would you go? Please get back to me soon as I'm interested in buying this lense soon.

Thank you.

Kevin Maistros July 13th, 2003 03:12 PM

Wanted: 14x or 16x manual lense, Cinetech Matte box for the XL-1s

I'm interested in used and in good condition items at decent prices.

Looking for the 14x or 16x manual lense, or if the right deal comes along.. both. 14x is preferred but if I can't get it for a reasonable prices ($800 or lower I suppose) then the 16x is my next target.

Also, I'm inclined to a professional looking matte box and rig for the camera. The Cinetech Matte Boxs are what catch me the most. If anyone has any good deals on a rig, please let me know as this is what I'm most interested in, and will be used with either the 14x or 16x lense.

If anyone else has anything they think I might be interested in and is a great deal, feel free to let me know.

I'm looking to create this XL-1s setup. Looks are important, it contributes to the "professionalistic image" and often motivates crew to push harder due to the professional feel of the prodution. Gives them more pride.

Reply here or email me, please. Give me a call even.

Let me think about it.

Brad Simmons July 13th, 2003 06:27 PM

thanks Ken, for some reason I didn't think of looking at BH, they have em. cheers!

Kevin Maistros July 13th, 2003 07:09 PM

Thanks for replying, I hope you'll keep me posted on if or not you're willing to sell it.

Best regards,

Adrian van der Park July 14th, 2003 03:41 AM

I saw your previous post. I can part with the 14x lens for $800, but since I'm in London, UK and the camera kit is located in Toronto right now, it might take some time to get it to you.

Thank you.

Well, I can't do anything of this sort for at least a couple of weeks as I've just moved and have many other pressing priorities, and then I'd have to talk to the person that is caring for the camera right now to get the lens packed up and sent. I suspect sometime in 2-3 weeks time I'd be able to accomodate you.

Kevin Maistros July 14th, 2003 10:02 AM

This may be the perfect offer for me then, as it wouldn't be most convienient for me to buy it within the next few days. These next couple weeks will be pretty busy for me, too.

Thanks again :)

Send me an email at the_klenzer@hotmail.com with the topic 14x Canon lens, so I dont accidently delete it with my daily load of spam. :)

EDIT, found your email on your website, emailed you.

Dean Sensui July 14th, 2003 05:23 PM

Adrian...

I know you prefer to sell the package as a complete kit, but I might be interested in the Cavision 4x4 Bellows Matte box, rail system with handgrips.

Thanks,

Huge Lowel Lighting Kit, with many extras

The Lowel Lighting kit is basically a modified Solo kit that sells for over $2100 at B&H Photo. Here is a basic description:

Vinten Vision 10 Tripod/Fluid Head

This is a great tripod. I've owned Sachtlers, O'Connors, Bogens and none compare to the Vintens I've owned. This tripod had its head rebuilt last year ($600) and is in top condition. It sold new for over $5,000 and I'll let it go for $1,800. It has a ground level spreader, but no case. The drag adjustments are countinously variable. What does this mean? It works with any size or weight camera up to its rated maximum (around 30 to 35 pounds). The Vision 10 was replaced two years ago by the Vision 11, and is almost identical, mostly cosmetic differences. The distinctive light color is great in hot climates. Why am I selling it? After recent shoulder surgery, I purchased a lighter, carbon fiber triood. I was going to keep it for my second camera, but I'm down sizing my equipment. This tripod usually sells on ebay for $2,000.

NRG Battery Belt, Like New

This is a big belt that will power an XL1 for several days. Great for event and wedding videographers. It has multiple outlets so more than one accessory (or camera) can be powered at a time. The cells were replaced less than a year ago and the belt is like new. Comes with belt, battery and AC charger. I've used NRG belts for a number of years and have never been disappointed.. They are well made and rugged enough to last a lifetime. B&H Photo sells this belt new for $450. This belt is like new and I'm asking $175 plus shipping. I accept PayPal, Money Orders and Bank Checks.
