I am selling a Kata bag for a Canon XL1 or XL1s camera. I bought it brand new and its just like brand new because I only used it a few times. I video wildlife in the outdoors and the bag is just too big to take in the field. As a result, it has just sat not being used in the house. I bought a smaller very light weight bag I use to carry the camera in. If you are looking for a kata bag you can buy this one and basically get a brand new bag and save $100-$150 from the price of one in the store. The kata bag does a great job protecting the camera and has enough storage room for your extra lenses, the camera, battery and charger, plus the wires. Its great for taking on trips or flights. I am not sure the exact # of the style of kata bag I have, but its the big blue one with a canvas type material. You can find it on the canon webstites for around $300 plus. If you are interested in the bag contact me and I can send you a picture of it through the email The part # is CCC10 I would put it on this ad but I am at work right now and don't have it available. I am asking $200 for the bag. You can call me for more info or to make an offer at (217)442-4651 or just email me.
Thanks,

It's been a while since I've been here but since having a baby and becoming more invloved with my "true love" music and song writting I've decided to sell all my camera gear! :(

I've just finished editing my last wedding DVD for 2003 and I hope I never go to another wedding again! :)

I still love my XL1 but love some audio recording gear more!
It's funny because a few years back I sold most of my audio gear and bought the XL1 so I can make some money!

I have a Canon XL1 with the 16 x and 3x wide lens, Isolater system, equalizer wind screen, dual charger, 4 batteries, 10 watt light, quality camera bag and a few other items.
It has been serviced almost every year since I bought it.
(I think it's 4 or 5 years old)

I live near Vancouver, BC, Canada so if your interested please email me and I will give you better details regarding the gear and price!

Thanks......

if you can find a picture of it off a website and give that link that might help people decide which one this is.

A Kata part number would be even better.

Hi dylan.

I'm going to keep everything together as I wish to sell it all at once. I'm not in a hurry to sell it so I can wait for a buyer who wants it all. (easier to sell that way as well)
I already have a few interested though some friends.

Nice to see you're getting around in the video field!
Keep it up!

If you have problems selling the items and *do*, indeed, decide to sell them- I'll take the forearm brace off your hands.

I have reduced the price on my camera package. I am still selling everything mentioned above, except for the kata bag. Most people that have contacted me about the camera said they didn't want to pay the extra for the expensive bag and extender lense. They suggested selling only the camera and kit mentioned above. So I am now asking $2900 for the camera, kit, and extender lense, and $2700 for the camera and kit without the lense. If you want more info contact me and I will send a picture.
Like I said earlier, the camera is like brand new, some stuff is still in the wrapper. I also have the original manual. I have used the camera probably less than 10 hours. I would call it mint condition because I haven't scratched or dinged it.

Hi, my name is Mark Utley and I live in Saskatoon, SK, Canada.

I am wondering if anybody has an XL1 that they are wanting to sell, that does not come with any additional accessories. I am on a tight budget and do not want to pay anything more than I have to.

Please send an email to markutley@mumps.ca

Pics, camera history, problems, why you're selling it, and any other useful information would be great!

Thanks,

-Mark Utley

I saw you are looking for a Canon XL1 camera. I am selling a Canon XL1s camera that is like brand new, I would call it mint condition with no scratches or dings, and probably less than 10 hours of use. I am selling the camera and kit that came with it that includes lense caps, manual, straps, wires, remote control, dc coupler, battery and charger all which are in excellent condition, some stuff is still in the wrapper. I also have a 1.6X optical extender lense with it that I paid around $500 for. If you are interested let me know and I will send you a picture of the camera and accessories. I am asking $2850 for everything, thats in US dollars. I may have someone to buy the extender lense separate so without the extender lense i would probably sell the camera and accessories w/out the extra lense for around $2650. If you are interested contact me and I'll send you the pictures.
Thanks,
Sean Lange
p.s. I am selling the camera because I am going to switch to a Canon GL2. I do a lot of wildlife videoing and the XL1s is almost too big plus there is a lot of features I don't utilize on the camera.

hi...im in the budget of around 800-1200 and im looking for either the trv950 or gl1 or any other camera thats comparable to these in the price range..thanks

Frank Granovski
March 13th, 2004, 08:45 PM
Why not a new PV-DV953?

Ben Nolan
March 13th, 2004, 09:21 PM
how does that camera compare to the trv950 and gl1? ..i never really thought of that camera..im looking for the best video quality i can afford..it doesnt need great sound or still pictures or anything...im just looking for really good video quality.

Frank Granovski
March 13th, 2004, 11:47 PM
The 953 records really great video, for its price. But it won't shoot in the dark.

Ben Nolan
March 13th, 2004, 11:57 PM
what if i lit the scene pretty good? ..im gonna need to be able to have shots in films when its night time..or in a pretty dark room...not pitch black..but it needs to be dark enough to tell its dark...so if i somewhat lit the scenes ...do you think it would be able to produce reasonable looking video?

Carlos Salcedo
March 14th, 2004, 02:25 PM
Our project is done. All shooting is completed and it is time to give this camera a new home where she can continue to provide many years of faithful shooting.

The camera was purchased new Mid january and has a total shooting time of about 50-60 hours. The camera was always on sticks (tripod), except for a short trip on the Glidecam 2000 Pro, and has no wear marks whatsoever.

The camera works great and all cables, manuals, disks are included.

Will take $2000 for the camera and the Glidecam/ arm brace combo or $1850 for the camera alone.

For further details contact me at carlos@carlossalcedo.com

Joel,
I suggest that your friend join here and represent his own property for sale. Negotiating through an intermediary (you) is not a very viable prospect for either buyer or seller, particularly with the wide availability of 2nd hand video cameras.
