Apparently this version of the Mini35 cannot work at all with the DVX-100. You'll need the latest Mini35 for that to happen.

My sister will be travelling to the Vancouver BC area in the 15th of june. Through her, I would like to buy a pre-owned 15" PowerBook G4 (aluminum). She would be paying for it with a local Canadian currency check (from her dad) or cash if requiered. I would need a written statement form the owner specifying that it was sold used, to avoid problems with customs when my sister brings it home. Please contact me at info@canal.cl or post back to this thread if you prefer.

Any recommendations about stores that sell pre-owned macs in the area are also welcome. Thank You very much.

This is an excellend overview of the principles of lighting for video presented in a comprehensive and involving way.

Here's the description from the dvcreators.com site.

"The DV Enlightenment DVD covers essential lighting theory, DVcreators.net's Four Point Lighting Method taught around the world to tens of thousands of attendees, how to get the best results shooting daylight exteriors or interiors with natural light, lighting a greenscreen, lighting for black limbo, white limbo, and a series of lighting tips and tricks for a range of situations."

It sells for $75 (or $99 - if their limited time offer has expired) plus shipping.

The reason I am selling it - I watched it 4 times and enough is enough :)

My email is andreNO@SPAMturnhead.com (remove the capital letters).

I will ship it in the continental US in a nice padded envelope for $6.

If I don't get a response within 7 days, I will void my offer on this forum and auction the tutorial.

Regards
-- Andre

Well at this point I am finding out first what the market price is for a 15", I think a 17" is too big to lug around comfortably, but of course if the price is really good I could become interested in the 17" model.

By the way it's Vancouber BC, Canada. I got an email from somebody in Vancouver Oregon <sigh>.

Hi all,
Up for sale I have my Sony VX2000 package for sale. I am selling because with my new job I no longer have the time to invest in any serious video projects and I find myself turning towards photography as its easier for me to get up and out alone to shoot. With that said, here is a list of everything included in the package:

Sony VX2000 Camera
Beachtek DXA-4 Dual XLR Adapter
4 Batteries- NP-F750, NP-F550, and 2 NP-F330s
Standard Acessories including:
AC Power Adapter
Remote Control
Memory Stick reader/writer (no stick included)
Sony Shoulder Strap
Small and Llarge Eyecups
Lens Hood
Instruction Manual, Picture Gear Lite 4.1 and Memory stick reader/writer software as well as random documentation
Retail Box

History of camera: I bought this used from a video artist/photographer and it is in terrific shape. He said it was used very little and it showed. I used it myself for 6-7 hours working on a few school projects. All of my shooting was done indoors on a tripod, and this camera is in great shape.

Condition: Everything is in excellent functional condition and works as it should. Cosmetically everything is in great shape. I would say the camera is an easy 9 out of 10. If you are obsessive like me and sit down staring at it you may notice some very light wear, but there are really no noticeable scratches or scuffs. The beachtek has a ring around the bottom as it was mounted on a tripod for a while when I had it- other than that its perfect. Basically, the package is in great shape, I just like to be specific and open when selling.

NOTE on the batteries: One of the NP-F330s holds a charge half way and then drops down. All the others appear to hold a good charge.

I can take some pictures if anyone is interested. I am asking $1850 but feel free to make a reasonable offer. I will consider partial trades for Digital Rebel accessories. You can post here or email me at robsmo at yahoo dot com. You can look me up on Ebay under "compudork" or heatware.com under "robsmo" for references. Thanks!!

Robbie

With the cam being discontinued, and the GS400 coming so soon, that cam isn't gonna pull $900 from an unknown seller on a message board. You'll be able to get it cheaper brand new (and many already have). I'll give you $500 minus the tapes thru paypal. What do ya? say

Have 2 SanCubes that I'm thinking of selling. They're fairly hard to come by and look dangerously cool.

One's 120gb-ish and the other is 320-ish 4 drive and 6 drive... they are both 4-user boxes.

If anyone's interested I'll get the specs for you as well as some pix. They're at my office otherwise I'd do so now.

They are not the X-Streams.

The drives I have been told are interchangable.

Hi Robbie,

Please tell me if your cam is still available. If so, please tell me if it can do pass-through (DV-in, to use the camera as a "bridge" to allow preview on an external monitor while editing).

Thanks!

No thank you. You can still find retailers selling new ones around $999, and refurbs around $850. I know that this is a good camera. Besides, if someone is interested in the camera I will soon become known to them. I don't expect anyone to spend that kind of money without talking to me first. I am more then willing to give a buyer whatever personal information they need to know about me in order to feel comfortable. I don't take selling something lightly. My word means a lot to me.

My asking price is not unreasonable. I am more then willing to entertain reasonable offers, but I can't take $500. I am not desperate to sell it.

Good luck in your search for a camera.

I'm very interested and so is my friend, but like you I am broke and in college. The most either of us could hit is $700, and for that I would have to sell my labtop; my last link to the world of PC. If you can't sell it for this price and you're not using it, would you consider renting it out for the summer?

Jeremy Malheim

Tom,

I would have been happy too, but as you can see, it is gone. Take care. Good luck with finding a camera!

Wow, I forgot all about this thread! Actually, while I still do have this camera in my possession, it is no longer for sale. I am selling my VX2000 (on these boards!) and have since traded away my deck and I would like to keep this camera as I still have some of those old family events on tape that I promised to edit lying around. Sorry for not updating, I actually forgot all about this post as it has sat for a few months....

It may help if you mention which version of the mini mount this is. The original used sleeves to hold different mic sizes, while the current design uses a screw-down design which accomodates any mic thickness.

Brad Carrier
June 3rd, 2004, 02:25 PM
Yes, good idea. This is the versions which uses the sleeves. It comes with one sleeve to fit the XL1s mic.

Hi all, am brand new to the site and so far from what i've seen it's a top notch dv site. Am in there industry and am looking to purchase the above camera's. Have an ok budget approx $2400 cdn or about $1800 u.s. Would prefer to buy in Vancouver, canada *yes am situated there* but willing to look elsewhere at the right price. thanks!

:)

P.S i'm not necessarily just looking for it on here, if anyone residing in vancouver knows where i can purchase a cam like em for a reasonable price, please don't hesitate *at all* to do so!! ;)

Joe Cirino
June 3rd, 2004, 06:34 PM
can this be used for video? I have a Gl2 in which I shoot weddings with.

Ed Baatz
June 3rd, 2004, 09:52 PM
Joe,

Yes. It is designed for use with video camcorders.

I used this tripod & head combination with my GL1 and it worked great... The Bogen 3130 head has a maximum weight capacity of 8.9 pounds and the 3251 tripod legs have a maximum load capacity of 26.5 pounds. Your Canon GL2 weighs roughly 2.5 pounds.

I particularly like the way these tripod legs can be extended and retracted so easily... it makes using it a breeze.

The reason why I have listed this for sale is because I now need a tripod which can handle the considerably heavier Canon XL1S. I probably should hang onto this tripod system, but there are so many other other accessories I need to buy for my new XL1S... <g>
