Hi Y'all... thanks soooo sooo much for the on going good wishes and prayers. Don't worry about using this thread. Prayer is MUCH more important than selling gear. It will all work out the way it is suppose to. YOU GUYS ARE "THE BOMB!" Your kind words are making the selling part so much less painful. Gulp :-)

Hi Folks...I'm working on a price list right now for the FCM gear. So sorry for the delay. I did not expect the wonderful response from soooo many people. Will be up soon. Thanks for patience.

at current, I am not intersted in selling the cam broken up, I will however entertain offers for purchase. At current my lowest offer is 2600.oo w/ pelican, if anyone trumps this, it is yours.

I still have all of my original equipment, lovingly cared for and neatly stored. I have a Chinon Pacific 12 SMR that has a built in sound syncing mode (through a PC socket flash on the side of the camera), a 12 to 1 zoom (big deal in the 1970s), direct (on film) sound and a slo mo option plus other neato goodies. To accompany that I have a Sankyo XL 600s (low light) Super-8 sound camera, a Eumig sound projector and the granddaddy of them all, a professional grade Elmo ST 1200 HD Stereo Super-8 projector with two hour film reel capabilities. I also have an Elmo 1012s XL Super-8 sound movie camera as well (If anybody remembers, these were the babies that took the 200' Super-8 sound cartriges that stuck out of the top of the camera like a one-eared Mickey Mouse). From what I've read (correct me if I am wrong, people) Super-8 has the resolution equivalent to mini dv. But yes, there is, allegedly, still a big market out there for Super-8 productions and Kodak even emulates some of it's more popular 35mm stock in Super-8 (like reversal and negative film). Despite my nostalgic blathering, I am unequivocally hooked on DV. And my Super-8 equipment is doing no good sitting unused. If anybody wants to buy it (including editing viewers and splicers) let me know. I will let the stuff go cheap. E-mail me! Ciao!

You don't need step up rings! I have the same thing marketed under the name Ambico Shade +. Call B & H used equipment department and get the 58 mm ring. If they don't have it, I might. If I do have it, it's yours! Drop me an e-mail if you are interested.

Wow for the money lost on having to sell the gear...it's been worth it for the overwhelmingly generous words of prayer and concern from the DVInfo.net community. I cannot tell you how impressive it is to have the pats on the back. I'm much less bummed about selling the gear. Fat Cat Media will resurface somehow in Texas (looks like Austin or bust!)

As of today the GL2, WD58H, Kata Case & Canon BP 945 battery are sold. If I have forgotten to email any of you with a price list PLEASE email me at: "fatcatmedia@yahoo.com" and I will get back to you a.s.a.p.

The Sennheiser ME-66 w/K-6, Lightwave mini-mount and equalizer are available.

I also have:
Firestore FS-1 DV direct unit
Bogen 3066 head
2 channel Pro XLR adapter
Power 2000 battery (BP 945 copy...great performance)
Canon ZR1000 zoom remote control Varizoom 5.2" color monitor + acc's
Hoodman for GL2 flip out screen
Tiffen Haze, 1/2 Pro Mist & Circular Polarizer filters
Kata or Porta Brace rain cover (can't remember which one I ended up with ...think it was accidentally packed in the moving boxes)

Thanks again so very much to the fine people at DVI. It means a great deal to my husband and I to have found this incredible forum. Don't put something up for sale here unless you REALLY want to sell. It goes sooooo fast. God Bless, Roze

Sorry to hear about your family problems. I did the same thing 3 years ago when my Mom became ill. I moved back to Ohio from LA and it was the best thing I ever did. It was hard because we knew my Mom's time was getting shorter, but being there at the end was something I would never undo. I'm back in LA now doing the movie "thang" again. You can always get new gear, but family is not replaceable.

Good luck with your move and selling your gear.

Scott

Hi Frank!

Yes , looking to buy one . Actually I'm not really sure about the prices in Dubai but someone I know is going there and suggested that they could bring one back for me , said it will be cheaper than buying it from India. So I thought I would check .

Let me jump in here and say that I too was looking for a JR without the monitor.

I've got a GL2 and figured I didn't need it.

I found a JR with a monitor and after using it for only a few minutes will never use the LCD on my camera while on the JR.

Among the issues why I like it better are:

1. It was always a bit harder to balance correctly with it out.

2. I find I swap back and forth between hands a lot and if I just used the LCD on the camera I wouldn't be able to see it when holding the rig with my left hand.

3. By having the monitor where it is on the JR, you're really able to watch the ground as you move. That's been pretty important to me as I've avoided a few spills.

That's just a few things. I open up the LCD to white balance and check the image, then I only use the monitor on the JR.

It's even one of the old B&W ones and I still prefer it.

So, all that to say, my advice is to go with the one with a monitor. I think you'll find it much more useful.

Charles Papert

This confirms many of my suspicions about the monitor-less JR, Bryan. Suffice to say that as I understand it, many more of the version with the monitor are sold than the one without.
