Shok Stop makes a great case for the 150/170. Precut foam forms top and bottom, really good locking devices lightweight, compact yet it carries a ton of gear. Use it all the time when I travel. Typical gear carried in it, 1 camera, 3 batteries,20W light w/battery, 10 tapes, 7605 headphones, shotgun mic on camera, wireless receiver, wireless transmitter, WA lens attachment, wireless handheld mic, wired handheld mic with a 10 ft and a 20 ft XLR, 2 18 inch XLRs for wireless receiver and a small roll of duct tape. Crowded but I get it all in there. Both cases have the exact same gear in them. I think I bought them at SaferSeas about 2 or 3 years ago...they also fit nicely in the overhead compartment in airplanes. I love 'em, they're sturdy and strong and have saved my gear on more than 1 occassion.

Hi David,

Before the days of DV, I was shooting SVHS with some beastly JVC cams.

I unloaded the Cameras on Ebay a while back, but I have a few things you may need if you are going to shoot analogue.

Videotek Prodigy analogue switcher 8 channel http://www.videotek.com/production.html#prodigy

You will need TBC’s with this if your camera’s don’t have a “Sync” built in. (I used JVC x3’s- no sync)
There is one on Ebay right now asking $2100 I’ll take $1000 US Plus shipping of your choice

I also have a FourA dual channel (two camera) TBC, that also has its own switcher for a two camera shoot This sold for $20k new I am told , asking $500 US plus shipping of your choice.

I have a Dead FourA single TBC if you want to resolder about a hundred capacitors you can have it for the shipping cost (free).

I also have two TBC II PC cards (digital brand) one seems to work well the other I’m not sure $100 for both with no promises.

I also have a Horita blackburst generator that you may also need with the switcher asking $150 USD.

I don’t have any manuals for any of these items.

These were going to go up on ebay in the new year. I do miss the X3’s they are a great low light camera. I can’t shoot small venue concerts, they are just too dark for the dvcams!

Let me know if you are interested.

Cheers

Chris H

Forgot to mention this lens has 58 mm threads and works on the gl1, gl2, vx2000/2100, or anything that takes 58mm. Exceptional piece of glass that is very versatile.

Thinking of going to the XL2, here is what I have.

I haven't quite made up my mind if I can afford the switch right now. Thought I would put some of this stuff up here and see if anybody wanted to take half of it at once and make things much easier on me. I'm looking for fair market prices here. That means I won't be asking for $4000 for my XL1s with lots of extras but at the same time I won't be giving it away for $2000 either. I am located in St Catharines Ontario so shipping within Canada is cheap and no taxes. I travel often to NY so I can ship within the US to make shipping quicker and cheaper, and of course no taxes.

So anyways here it is.

XL1-s with fairly light use. Looks absolutely mint, no functional problems whatsoever. Never used as a VTR. Have the original box, about 14 months old, bought brand new in Hamilton last year. I have the colour viewfinder, stereo mic, and all the other standard extras. Standard 16X lens. With it I have a couple canon brand long-life batteries. Your choice of the MA-100 or the MA-200. The 3X wide angle lens, canon brand, not the screw on. Also with it I have the Canon HC-3200 aluminum carrying case that lets you transport it together (without the MA-200 on it though). Looks very stylish but says 'Steal Me' on the front so some people prefer a portabrace. Also, an Azden WMS-pro wireless lav and handheld mic setup. Works great and very simple to use, about 3 months old, just upgraded to UHF.

In addition I have another XL1-s body, a couple years old, mint condition, slightly more hours, estimate about 100. I have the viewfinder and stereo mic with it as well as the original stuff and an MA-100. I also have a large portabrace bag. Not sure what the model number is or if there are models but seems like a pretty standard portabrace case that lets you carry everything assembled.

So I'm looking to sell either the body with the 3X wide angle lens and some other extras, or the XL1-s with the standard lens and some other extras, or the XL1-s with the standard lens and the wide angle lens. At this point, I am not considering selling anything seperately besides the XL1-s body.

If anybody is seriously interested, please let me know and I will come up with the best price I can, keeping in mind that it won't be a steal but it won't be overpriced either.

So please contact me and let me know if your seriously looking for anything like this.

Thanks
Patrick

$1500/I'll pick up shipping cost.
If interested email me at christian.collins@gmail.com

Nothing's wrong with the cameras. One I bought from B & H just a month before the XL1-s came out. What was that, July of 2002? I'll have to dig up the paperwork. The other I bought from a private party about a year ago. He never used it as I think it was too much camera for him. His wife was glad to get rid of it. One says July 1999 and the other October 2000. I've used them both to video two weddings, two ballets, about a dozen soccer games, a couple of ballets, and some elementary school events of my kids, so there really isn't that much use of the cameras. In addition, I used both cameras which would mean even less use on either cam as they are both identical and I use them randomly. I just bought a Sony Pd-170 and don't need three cameras (actually 4 as I have an old Sony for vacation stuff). Anyway, I'm taking them to Canon for the checkup soon.
Any other questions?

Huh?

Um, Joe- Usage time is probably about 100 hours (or less). I obviously didn't use it as much as I might have liked to. No problems whatsoever- excellent condition. Original purchase date is May 2002.. I've got the receipt around here somewhere if you need absolute specifics.

The reason I'm selling the camera is simply to finance an upgrade to the XL2.

Here is a link to the steadicam setup that I have:

http://www.abc-products.de/english/HM_ueber_e.htm
click "handyman set" at the bottom.

It looks like the handyman 1000C when assembled.

It is a very cool unit and well worth the price to obtain very proffesional results. It does take a little practice to develop your own technique, and a little forearm muscle, but amazing results can be achieved.

Martin Archer-Shee
November 14th, 2004, 04:06 PM
Hi Cory

Know where you are coming from, one thing makes way for the next etc.

If you are looking at a new 2100 you are probably looking at some $4500 cdn plus tax.
When I was searching I came across several 2100's on Ebay but only one in Canada. My choice was a PD150 and I was lucky with one out of Vancouver.

If it is of interest, I am also selling my VX1000 (advertised in this forum) which has been a great 3 chip camera (I can't justify keeping two high end units..). That is also why the XLR is for sale.

Good luck

Hey Martin,

Yeah the VX2100's and VX2000's im seeing on eBay look great..an are going for about 1700.00 USD Brand New in box from great dealers. I was dead set on a PD150, but I dont need DVCAM..and can always get the Beachtek. For doing quick and fast ENG Spots for my local TV station, I think it will hold up quite well once I get some kind of shoulder brace and a light.

Just wanted to update the list of FS items and inform everybody that I will be parting out everything that is left.

The XL1-s kit was sold with many extras.

What I have left:

-Ma-200 with original box
-two SP-100 (or is it SP80) the original shoulder pad
-3X canon wide angle lens
-Canon XL1S body, viewfinder and stereo mic (with remote and what not)
-Canon brand long life battery
-Green large portabrace bag

I am located in Canada, so that means no taxes to anybody in Canada or the US. I can provide plenty of references and my home phone. Make me a fair offer on the small items and they are yours. Otherwise, I will com eup with prices in a day or two when I have time.

Hi all - I'm selling a very slightly used JVC JYHD-10 HDV Camcorder with a bunch of accessories. I've decided to go to the Sony HDR-FX1.

The camera is less than six months old, has been perfectly maintained, and zero flaws. It only has less than 10 hours total recording time on it, as it was a second camera.

All of the accessories in the original box (and I still have the box as well) and the original warranty card are also included - I never sent it in.

In addition to that, I am including the following items:

FILTERS:
1 - UV Filter
1 - Circular Polorizer
1 - .3 ND Filter (52mm)
1 - .6 ND Filter (52mm)

1 - COKIN A Filter set which includes:
3 Neutral Density filters
2 Warming Filters
1 Polorizing Filter
8 Assorted 'Creativity' filters, including sunset, fog, graduated grey, diffuser, blue, yellow & red
3 Cokin Filter Shades (poor man's matte box)

BATTERIES:
3 Batteries
1 - Original JVC that came with the camera
1 - JVC 3200mah Battery
1 - 3500mah aftermarket batter (6 hour battery)

A box of 10 JVC tapes (mediocre quality).
The cleaning tape that came with the camera

1 - HDV Training Jumpstart DVD for the HD1/HD10

1 - Anton Bauer ULTRA LIGHT UL20. Would require a powertap cable and battery pack - its the light only.

As I mentioned, the camera has seen very little use, and is in mint condition.

I was hoping to start the bidding at $2800 + ACTUAL SHIPPING COSTS (your choice of shipment method) for all these items. I will accept payment by cashiers check and will accept paypal under certain conditions (no credit cards/verified address).

I will leave this ad for a while for my friends at DVINFO. This item is NOT presently on ebay, but if I get no responses, I will put it on ebay later.

Thank you for your interest.

Please reply to this message or contact me at william.piedra@snet.net. - please note: i have been having trouble with the mailbox that is registered here (william.piedra@msanswers.com).
