Matthew Martin July 26th, 2004, 01:29 AM Hi,
Sent you an e-mail, just not sure if you got it or not. Anyway, I'm interested in the XL1s.
Please e-mail me at the_requiem@elitemail.org
Thanks,
Matt
Kenji Nakajima July 26th, 2004, 03:47 AM This sale is still on. I forgot about the sale because I got really busy.
Tony Hall July 26th, 2004, 07:21 AM How much for just the CDR300? I believe it goes for $670 new.
Kenji Nakajima July 26th, 2004, 03:37 PM Greeting,
I'll accept any reasonable offer.
Thank you!
Tony Hall July 26th, 2004, 04:13 PM Well, this probably isn't reasonable, but I'll give you $300 for it if it comes with all of it's original accessories. I'm getting ready to spend about $300 on a Sony voice recorder and memory stick, so if I could get this for the same price I'll do it. The only thing that sucks is the CDR300's rechargable batteries are over $150 each... and I'd probably need one. If you're interested, email me.
Ryan Nowosielski July 26th, 2004, 09:51 PM i got the GL1 on ebay right now,, so go check it out:

Cary Weston July 27th, 2004, 05:51 AM Hey Ryan,
Please note that Chris has posted a rule of the forum stating no EBAY auctions on the DVINFO.net forum.
To stay in good graces with the clan, it is probably best if you remove the item from the forum.
Regards,
Cary Weston

Aaron Banks July 27th, 2004, 07:50 PM Not 100% for sure on selling, I may or may not take this down. I am venturing into the world of photography, so if anyone has a nice digital SLR setup let me know, I could trade or purchase once this camera is sold.
Purchased two months ago from the fine folks at EVS, was the last model in stock.
7 hours on the heads, only used for recording not for digitizing.

Plus: Quantaray hard case (fits perfect, foam block style) 1 blank MQ tape, Tiffen UV filter, 3 (three) 3400mAh batteries
Used one day, been tucked away in its case ever since.
Full USA warranty - not a greymarket camera
Yes its NTSC.
If anyone would like some high-res photos of the camera, I would be happy to email you some.
Please email or PM if interested about the camera.
Robbie Smolinsky July 27th, 2004, 08:25 PM Hey Aaron, I've sent you an email!!
Patrick Gault July 27th, 2004, 09:48 PM Perfect for shooting interviews, b-roll, small product shots, and events.
2 Lowel Omni - Includes bulbs, cables, barn-doors, and screens. A very flexible light for video production work. It can be lamped with 600, 500, and 420 watt globes. Its focusable - allowing you to spread the light evenly, spot it down to a tight circle, or any where between. Attached to Lowel Omni’s is a convenient umbrella mount to create a softer light. These lights are work horses. Even when problems do occur, the lights are easy to repair and parts are easy to purchase. These lights have seen a lot of use, but they are ready for much, much more. One of the reflectors is showing signs of age, but can easily be replaced. Both lights work well.
1 Lowel Tota - Great shape! Includes 1000 Watt bulb. Cable not included. Totas work great when placed inside of a soft box or reflected off of light surfaces. New cables cost around $35. Totas can also be lamped with a variety of wattages for additional flexibility.
1 Cool-Lux Mini-Cool - Great Shape! Includes barndoors, lightstand adapter, diffusion glass, AC power cable, DC cigarette adapter and 150 watt bulb. These are amazing lights. They can be lamped with various wattage lights that work with AC or DC. They are constructed to vent heat quickly which results in longer lamp life and a cooler working environment. I have found this light makes a perfect hair light for interviews, etc. This light design is so effecient, a 250 watt bulb puts out light equivilent to 600 watt fixtures.
2 Bogen / Manfrotto 3320B Stacker Light Stand. These 7 foot stands pack flat to fit easily into a case. These stands are in great shape and will stand up to a lifetime of use. These stands have a small foot print so they can fit in many places a regular stand can not. These stands are black to reduce reflections.
1 Bogen / Manfrotto Backlight Stand - Great Shape! Packs down small, but can extend to 33”. Great way to hide the back light behind your subject. This stand is also black to reduce reflections.
1 Bogen Boom Clamp - great shape. Make shift telescoping boom pole included - works great with the Cool-Lux Mini Cool.
1 Universal Softbox Speedring- good shape. I bought it used, never used it.
1 Pelican PCS104 Lighting and Camera Equipment Wheeled Case is a rolling case capable of holding a full lighting system, a camera and several lenses and a tripod. Even when closed the user has great access to his gear, thanks to unique zipper entry points in the case's top. The handle locks firmly into place at full extension, and inline skate wheels make for easy transport. Interior mesh pockets, telescoping rolling handle, rubber rails on bottom, top and side carrying handles, interior foam dividers can be customized and self-healing coil type zippers. Only used a few times. Great shape.
Copy and paste this link to appreciate how amazing this case is. You mini dv shooters could carry all your lighting, camera, accessories and tripod all in one case - on wheels!

Jesse Bekas July 29th, 2004, 01:21 AM Can somebody please explain to me why MiniDV decks are ridiculously expensive? It's just a tape transport! Any company could buy VTRs off of a cheap camcorder model, put it in a new housing and voila! The only reason I can think of is that they assume only professionals are looking for decks and therefore can charge out the ass for them. Could you imagine if Sony made a $75 deck, and ran one of their monster ad campaigns in Nov/Dec claiming you NEED one to prolong the life of your camcorder, and then got a store like Best Buy to recommend one with every MiniDV camcorder purchase? Sony could spin some info on how MiniDV is better than DVD quality and they're digital (even though it really is, the way Sony makes proclamations I always take it with a grain of salt)! They would be all the rage! I am baffled at the lack of an affordable deck. Please somebody explain it to me.

Patrick Gault July 29th, 2004, 02:07 PM price has been lowered and moved to a new thread...
Ryan Nowosielski July 29th, 2004, 05:00 PM no no, all i want to know is that if you have extra light bulbs only! that i can buy or get from you.. i need higher than 50w .... like 150w
Chris Ferrer July 29th, 2004, 07:20 PM the quality of the transport among other things in the pro decks that make them so dependable and thus cost more. If you put your little consumer camera through the rigors of hundreds of starts, stops, FF's, stops, RW's, starts, etc., everyday (you get the picture), soon you will have a $400 paper weight on your edit desk.
If you have ever used a pro deck to edit with, the difference is like night and day, the pro decks are very responsive and very fast in their actions saving you the editor quite a bit of time compared to the slow and sluggish camera transports. I have used several decks and cameras to edit and capture with but after buying my dsr-11 my search has ended, I couldnt live without it now.

Chris Ferrer July 29th, 2004, 07:45 PM Recently developed tendonitis in my right arm so its time for a smaller and lighter camera.
I have an extremely well loved and cared for complete XL1s (in mint condition) that has shot about 25 weddings over the last year and half. I also purchased the 3x wide angle lens for her about 6 months ago and that has very limited use on it, also in mint condition. (both USA models)
The extras I am referring to are:
1) a Tamron padded case designed specifically for the XL1
2) a Beachtek DXA-6 audio adapter, works great on this cam!
3) a Lenmar LIC-941 extra high capacity battery
4) custom attentuated XLR to RCA cable designed for XL1
*** I almost forgot I have a Varizoom PG-L zoom controller for this setup too! (also included in the price). You are getting a complete shooting setup for virtually the price of a new XL1s.
I am the original owner of all this equipment. Camera comes with original 16x lens, EVF, stereo mic, manual & battery charger.
$3750 for everything. shipping extra.
I dont want to seperate becasue I need the $$ to purchase my new camera asap.

K. Forman July 29th, 2004, 09:43 PM Chris- Have you tried any of the DV walkmans? I'm wondering how much difference there is, between them and a regular deck.
Chris Ferrer July 29th, 2004, 10:00 PM Keith, I have not used the walkmans. I love the idea as I do some of my editing on the road but I can only assume that the small size dictates the use of a very basic transport mechanism... although I could be wrong.
I have found the dsr-11 to be rather portable as well and couldnt be happier with its performance, but it is a bit on the pricey side.
I have not seem much info about the small walkman decks at all, anywhere.
Rob Moreno July 30th, 2004, 02:03 AM My company has a complete Avid Media Composer system, including 422 audio interface and VSD slave driver units, PowerMac 9600 and four external hard drives, which has been collecting dust since we switched to FCP. Is this thing worth anything to anyone, or would we be better off tossing it in the dumpster...er, I mean recycling it.
Jeff Donald July 30th, 2004, 05:25 AM In the US a school might take it, not sure about donations and such in Japan. Have you looked to see what they sell for on ebay?
Patrick Gault July 30th, 2004, 06:42 AM Sorry, no spre bulbs. Have you checked out barndoor lighting. They have reasonable prices. I think bhphotovideo sells a "general brand" 150 watt light for about $18. Your not going to get cheaper than that. Any light you buy have fairly expensive globes...this business / hobby isn't cheap.
Rob Moreno July 30th, 2004, 10:06 AM I did a quick search on ebay, most of the listings were obviously from people asking way too much money (no bidders). Not much of a helpful reference.
Jeff Donald July 30th, 2004, 10:13 AM If you check the completed sales for the last 30 days, you'll see several bids for around $1000 USD. The sellers are usually looking for around $3000, but can't get it. If you're looking for $3000 it may take some time (or luck). However, if you start your auction at $1000 with no reserve, (you'll have to sell to the highest bidder) you should get around $1,500 for the package.
Rob Moreno July 30th, 2004, 10:30 AM <<<-- Originally posted by Jeff Donald :

Really?! Wow, I thought I would be lucky to get $500 for it.
Kristopher Mallory July 30th, 2004, 03:20 PM Hey guys,
Due to the fact that my wife and I just put an offer in on a new home, I have to sell my Xl1S. I'd hate to part with it but I want to make sure I have the cash for any unexpected expences. so with that said here is some more information on the camera and extras:
I purchased this camera from Kent Metschan one of the members of this board around 7 month ago. so I am the second owner. here is some qoutes from marks original sale to me.
-----------------------
"everything it came with (mint manual, remote, strap, lens, battery, etc."
"I have a Porta Brace Traveler bag that cost $275 new that I'll throw in"
"The camera is in prestine condition with not even 1 scratch. I have and will only use Panasonic PQ tapes in it. This camera was purchased from Zotz digital one of the site sponsors."
-------------------------
all of this is still true, everything is in mint condition and i continued to use the PQ tapes with this camera.
I only ended up using this camera on two very short projects and my next one isn't sceduled till some time next year, so this is the perfect time for me to sell it.
here is what is included:
-Mint XL1S with all original parts and excessories
-Blue Porta Brace Bag (it's a bit dusty but in exellent shape)
-Vidpro TT-1000 Remote control tripod (these tripods are light weight not professional grade, but they come in handy!)
-Mint MA-200 XLR w/
-CH 910 Duel Battery Charger
I'll even Throw in a small lighting package: four lights with stands that come in it's own carring case. purcased off of ebay for $150.00. perfact for when you just need alittle extra lighting and don't want to bust out the big guns. (please note, i havent used this kit in awhile and a few bulbs may need replacing)
Also incuded as an extra bonus is 25 Blank DVD-R's with standard DVD cases (sealed). I have more of these for sale in anothr post if anyone is interested.
O.k well I haven't really thought about pricing because this is kind of a last minute thing so for the time bieng, If your interested please email me krismallory@gmail.com and make me an offer.
Kris.
Oh yeah, I can send pictures to interested parties. also i will do escrow through escrow.com (an ebay company) if you like. it's much safer for the buyer. however this is at the buyers cost. thank you.
Jeff Donald July 30th, 2004, 03:57 PM There are people bidding $1000+ on ebay for similar systems.
Mark Argerake July 31st, 2004, 07:50 AM Kris - Good luck with the new home. Sorry to see you have to sell.

Charles Papert August 3rd, 2004, 09:44 AM My trusty XL1s is ready to go out the door. It's in fine condition and comes with all the standard bits, except for the original charger which has been replaced with a dual Sunpak, which works great; and of course it doesn't come with a lens. If you find a good deal on a manual lens, this is a great way to go (you aren't paying for the white lens if you don't need it).
I'm asking $1950. Please email me with questions, offers, etc. Thanks.
Nathan Lackie August 3rd, 2004, 11:18 AM Howdy,
I am selling two 16:9 adapter lenses.
1. OpTex Anamorphic Attachment for the Panasonic AG-DVX100A. The lens will also work on the earlier model camera (DVX100). The lens is in mint condition – only used once on a 5-day shoot. The required 52-72mm adapter ring is included, and is locked down on the lens.
I bought the lens new from ZGC last year, and other than the short project I first bought it for, it’s been sitting in the box on my shelf for months.
Here’s the website with technical information:
http://www.zgc.com/zgc.nsf/902a2548f82c5d6505256b4f00545f81/63b83c97fd349a1785256b82005afb3b?OpenDocument
Price: $500.00
2. Century Optics 16:9 Widescreen Adapter for Canon GL1/GL2.
Model: DS-1609-GL.
This lens is also in mint condition – only used once on the same 5-day shoot.
The lens connects to the camera by means of a bayonet mount – it does not thread on. For this reason, this lens will only fit the Canon GL1 or GL2; it will not fit other 58mm diameter cameras.
Check out the Century Optics website for specifications:
http://www.centuryoptics.com/products/dv/16x9/16x9.htm
Price: $475.00
If you have any question, please send me an email.
