Bernard Diaz June 7th, 2004, 04:35 PM I have 2 nearby in new condition. 609 505-8828 or apd191@yahoo.com Nick Hiltgen June 7th, 2004, 07:51 PM 350 for the package Jim Sofranko June 7th, 2004, 07:57 PM How is the front and rear glass? It is not that clearly visible in the photos. What is the 1/32, 1/6, ring? Macro? Is this lens compatible with the Canon XL1 iris controls? Is it compatible with XL1 zoom controls? Sorry if some of these questions are elementary. Many thanks. Jeff Wros June 7th, 2004, 09:06 PM No problem ...all questions are welcome! The glass on both ends of the lens is in excellent condition which means that there are no scratches or marks on the glass. The 1/32 and 1/6 ring twists to engage the two neutral density filters. The macro ring is perhaps the biggest thing I will regret about selling this lens as it allows the kind of close-up shots one can only dream of with the standard-issue lens. With the macro ring you can have the lens within an inch or two of an object and have it in focus ...very nice, indeed. As for the controls ...the iris is controlled via the camera the way you may be used to with the standard lens using the wheel under the Exp. Lock and Lens Release buttons. The zoom can be handled either manually or using the zoom controls on the camera. The switch on the bottom of the lens controls which zoom you use. Manual zoom allows those edgy "The Shield"-like snap zooms that seems to be all the rage. Of course, you can always select the motor-driven zoom for nice smooth zooms and creeps. Again, this is a fantastic lens ...I'm simply not getting the kind of use out of it I had hoped I would and have had to leave it in the bag on my most recent shoots due to the need for IS in those situations. I hope this helps & I thank you for your interest. :) Joe Cirino June 7th, 2004, 10:18 PM can this fit a GL2? Joe Cirino June 7th, 2004, 10:20 PM FYI, I have owned Ikelite housing for years and they are the BEST housing one can own. Ike is a great guy and he will do next to fly to your town in order to make you happy. Luke Toyer June 8th, 2004, 04:06 AM Hi Jeff, I'm very interested, but based in the UK, are you accepting international offers? If so, are there any additional costs involved? George Loch June 8th, 2004, 12:10 PM I might also consider a trade for a good camera kit like a PD170. GL Vishal Gurung June 8th, 2004, 01:16 PM Hmm ok so now it seems i'm in the market for a GL-2 rather then the above mentioned. So if anyone has a gently used GL-2 to sell approx $1600-$1700 US pls let me know! cheers! Jarrett Towe June 8th, 2004, 03:26 PM I am getting rid of my dvc-80. It has probably 30 hours on it. If someone will tell me how I will check to get the real number. I love it, but I have neither the time(15 month old baby), or the skill at videography to make a business of it. I am going to put it on ebay in a week or two, but i thought i'd put it here first. Asking $1800. It is like new, no defects, works perfectly, all accessories included. Thanks, Jarrett Towe ps Will trade for $$$ and highend consumer dv cam. Torrey C. Harris June 8th, 2004, 04:23 PM check canon website Noah Posnick June 8th, 2004, 05:33 PM save your money and get the pd170 Vishal Gurung June 8th, 2004, 05:42 PM lol i guess you're not a big fan of the GL-2? Harris June 8th, 2004, 08:24 PM call me if you want to deal torrey harris 1-225-315-6677 Vishal Gurung June 8th, 2004, 08:47 PM ah no worries.. well the reason why i'm looking for the GL2 is because i'll be using it for extreme sporting events and the 20x zoom is very appealing to me George Loch June 8th, 2004, 10:30 PM Thanks Torrey but, I am a Sony kinds guy. GL Jed Williamson June 8th, 2004, 10:43 PM I think this is the first post I've seen from somebody in Greenville! I'm a Furman Grad ('01) & I love that city! Anyways, I'm interested in the DVC80 trade. Here is the question: TRV950 + how much cash? Jarrett Towe June 9th, 2004, 07:14 AM How old is the 950? Are there any accessories? And, Is is much smaller than a dvc-80? Thanks for the comment. Greenville is nice, I live about 8 miles from Furman! Small world!
